I have no idea how accurate this is; however, here is an interesting post from the Marshall message board:
"Re: Iona barely edges Denver in OT Reply
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- it may be on Sunday because of Iona travel. They played a Thursday night in Denver then a tough trip here which most likly took all day today. Tough to ask them to play again Saturday. I read somewhere that this is a big money game. We are giving them much more than we give others. I believe I read it was $30,000. Herrion felt it necessary to get them on the home slate."

I read there also that their expecting 8,000 in attendance for the game; they can afford it! I wonder if you walk out with the $30,000 and a W, are your considered a good guest ;D

Having said that, we can beat this team. Put on a show, Lads!!!

Had we beat Purdue I'd feel like we didn't need this one as much. This is a statement game... lol

I'll be missing the Gaels today as I'm coaching a CYO game at 3:00pm. If it starts at 3:00 I'll be able to catch the end of the game; but the chance of that happening is a good as National U going to the final 4! Cheer em on boys, I hope we get a W!

This Marshall team is huge - they have 6 players 6'8 or over (see roster below). No wonder they average over 42 rebounds a game. Let's hope the Gaels hit their shots and get those big Marshall players tired with our uptempo offense, and maybe get a few of their behemoths in foul trouble. This is the game that worries me the most on our schedule - but if we win it, we just might find Iona ranked in the Top 25 in the near future.
DeVince Boykins Freshman 6-4 205 Justin Coleman Freshman 6-5 225 Robert Goff Junior 6-9 240 Jamir Hanner Freshman 6-8 210 Shaquille Johnson Senior 6-3 205 J.P. Kambola Freshman 6-9 245 DeAndre Kane Sophomore 6-4 200 Chris Martin Freshman 6-0 180 Yous Mbao Sophomore 7-2 235 Dago Pena Senior 6-6 220 Damier Pitts Senior 5-10 165 Nigel Spikes Junior 6-10 237 Dennis Tinnon Junior 6-8 225

Worst loss in two years. I know Marshall's tough, but we simply ran out of gas in the second half, imo. Would've been tough to win in any event. Got to dig deep at Richmond during the week. Long road trip.

Looks like I picked a good day to miss the game. On a brighter note, my boys were down 12 with 3:00 mins to go and scored 17 unanswered to get the win.
