I'd love to see what Josh Gomez can do for the Gaels this year. He seems to be one possible solution for Iona's lack of length..as the second half of this season unfolds. The team certainly wouldn't need much offense from him. At the minimum, I'd like to see Diggs get more of a shot to help solve the size issue.

Agree. With all the blowout wins we'll have in this league, no reason to not give these guys some run. We may need them in Springfield, and we WILL need them in the NCAAs.

I wonder if the Gaels coaching staff and/ or players read this blog site?

I wonder if the Gaels coaching staff and/ or players read this blog site? Its only human nature. If someone is posting about me, Im sure I'd like to see it

That's also why I've always hated when posters with generic names attack specific players (and to a lesser extent coaches).

Gomez went into the Maryland game near the end of the first half when we had a comfortable lead. There were some quick "missteps," and I think we only led by 3 (or 5) at the half. I know Cluess was disappointed with the quick series of events.

TC on a pre-game radio interview said that Gomez should be able to contribute by his junior year.

I wouldnt mind seeing the kid in there just for the purpose of rebounding. "Don't shoot, just tap the ball in Mike direction".

Easier said than done. Josh can shoot the ball, but has to get a LOT stronger in order to rebound the ball.

I liked what I saw of Josh. I thought he could have been a little bit more aggressive

I liked what I saw of Josh. I thought he could have been a little bit more aggressive I think Josh showed some skill last night. I also think he did a much better job of getting in the flow of the game than I had seen earlier. I think this young man can contribute to this team this year. Frankly, I liked that he got minutes last night; and he did not cost us the game.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but didn't we actually increase our lead to the end of 1st half when Josh came in for Taj and Glove...he was far from a dominant force, but he certainly didn't hurt us...plus I thought he payed decent D against Brown...that is before Brown got amped up and put into over drive in the 2nd half...

good move getting him minutes- we are going to need his size sometime in a tournament.

gomez has potential, he needs to become more of a force in the middle, stand his ground and use his length....
at a few points he committed silly fouls and slapped at defenders rather than keeping his arms up
a little weight in the gym and some increased bball IQ that comes with time and he will be a solid solid player
