I would pick the Jenkins team with Glover

When I have time, I'm going to look up what Iona's record is when Armand scores X number of points compared with when he scores less than X.

ichoops, just when I think you can't make any MORE rediculous statements (or is it any statements that are more rediculous?), you continue to surprise me. Hopefully, you meant co-MVP, so I'll put it down to a typo.

Glover is HUGE, although I'd prefer that if he's falling out of bounds with the ball under the other team's basket that he call TO rather than toss it up for an easy assist to Sanders.

I think Ichoops means Glover is MVP of this imaginery intersquad scrimmage and I agree with him. My point was put Glover with the 4 back ups and the team is just as good, and therefore you need to play these guys. I like what Cluess did last night with the lineup. Jenkins playing at the end I think had a lot to do with holding off fairfield. Gaels need to play more 4 guards the rest of the way.

Mike is often double teamed. He still produces. We'd be in the shitter without him. He doesn't have an off night. Without Mike we'd have a different Scott. Scott would have to score more etc.
Mike changed the fortunes around here more than any other player or coach.

ichoops, so it wasn't a typo? Sad. Have you heard of Abbott and Costello?

Can't call TO falling out of bounds anymore.

ctbill, in that situation we would have been better off if you were playing for us instead of Mike. FF would have had the ball oob instead of an easy basket. I do hope MG was credited with an assist on the play.

Gotta find more minutes for JJ - he's an experienced senior who plays within himself and makes good decisions.

I noticed on another Board that our leader grades Iona as a C, based upon expectations.
I'm not clear on expectations, but I am reminded that we came into this season with a glaring question at the 5, especially with the no-show of one of recruits for that position. I also had questions at the 3 because of Kyle's health and identity of his back-up.
Does a "C" imply some disappointment with our 16 - 5 record? Are we disappointed with the growth curve of some of players, such as Taaj's progression at D? Taaj has been a great pick-up, and he may be victim of his early season Offensive success.
I think we have the talent to win the MAAC. However, to go further, we are going to need someone at the 5 to protect Mike. I think Taaj is the best option. From what I saw the other night, I think he accepts that challenge; and is not wilting from the crash course in Defense.
When we get to the big guys in post season, that ball is going to get pounded inside. Mike can't afford to; so Taaj and others must play the D for us to hang with the bigs.

We have already lost 2 league games, including 1 at home. Still have a number of tough games left. We have allowed teams to take games from us and have let opponents dictate tempo when we should be doing so with our superior talent and depth. And the fact that the at-large talk ended in January is disappointing.
Keep in mind these are midseason grades.

Taj is a force some games and almost invisible in others. Loss to Siena inexcusable. Grade based on expectations C plus.
