I don't understand why Amayo ever needed a waiver. They are talking about him being eligible in December. If Marshall never had a scholarship and misled him, then he must not have signed an NLI. So if that's the case, how can anybody tell him where he can and can't play, or when he can even play? Is there some stupid rule out there requiring you to sit even if you were not on scholarship. If the answer is yes, then the NCAA is way out of line. Who do these people think they are? And they wonder why the BCS conferences are thinking about breaking away and ruining the NCAA tournament. What a shame, as it is only the best sporting event of the year, with the possible exception of the Super Bowl.

Waiver was still "in process" at Goal Club golf outing mid-August. Here are 2 Saturday morning reads on waivers: college-basketball.si.com/2013/09/06/ncaa-transfer-waiver-hardships-kerwin-okoro-rakeem-buckles/?sct=uk_t11_a2www.athleticscholarships.net/2013/09/06/consistency-fairness-and-transparency-in-ncaa-waivers.htm

The question is: Why does a player who was never on scholarship, and hence never signed an NLI, even need a waiver in the first place. If you're not on scholarship, then you're just another student on campus, and the NCAA should not be allowed to control you like that.

Why don't they take a look at Schadrac Casimir from Trinity Catholic High School in Stamford, CT. Plus they have history with sending players to D1 schools such as Rashamel Jones (Uconn), John Smyth (Princeton), Craig Austrie (UConn) , Dave McClure (Duke) and Torey Thomas (Holy Cross) and Mike Trimboli (Vermont) They heard you Dante!

Iona should take a look at Luke Petrasek from Northport LI.....6'9" and right now thin at 180 but would be a steal. He scores from inside and outside. They need rebounding and this guy can really help out. He is getting offers from many DII schools. Coach Pavenelli on MSG Varsity knows about this kid and is wondering why Manhatten or Fordham isn't chasing this kid down. His team is currently 17-1 and is playing in the Suffolk county playoffs. I knew Luke Petrasek was mentioned on one of the Iona recruiting threads. He developed into a really good player at Columbia, and has had several NBA workouts this year, including tomorrow with the Lakers. I looked him up because looking at video, Andrija Ristanovic is very similar, if not more skilled at the same stage of their careers. Ristanovic has great upside and could develop into a steal for Iona down the road. Have to say this '13 thread was pretty interesting. Kudos to I86 and others for their posts, and how accurate they wound up being 4 years later. Forgot Iona was recruiting Edogi and Saintil back then, and they eventually wind up at Iona

I have very little idea whats left out there, but having nothing better to do I revisited all films I could find..Since he plays out west, I have never seen him play in person, but from what I have seen we should sign Edogi immediately if he shows any intention...4 years of this kid, and the potential he shows will be very rewarding. I tout a player every once in a while, the last being B. Voegel, and he turned out to be very good......Edogi is typical of todays front court player..He is a high flyer, likes to play and mix it up under the basket, has speed and his outside shot shows promise. He is also a leading conference rebounder who could if needed play any of the front court positions...I know there are those of us that are hoping for a true biggie of more hight but Edogi looks to me to good to pass up if available.. OT, I agree. He looks like a good fit for Cluess system. Very athletic and plays above the rim. Watching his videos and after I saw some offensive rebound dunks he reminded me of one of my favorite Iona players, Troy Truesdale with his high flying dunks, Though I think he was a little bigger than Edogi. According to his tweets he really liked Iona and he seems to want to play on the east coast An oldie but goodie from 2013.
