Iona has offered Tyrell Bellot-Green - a 6'7" combo forward pot of JUCO (Hill College) who is from Canada but played at St. Benedicts Prep. Averaged 11.6 ppt on 49% shooting and 50% from the three. Averaged 6.4 rebounds. Tough inside and can hit the mid range jumper consistently. He finishes off the glass as well as anyone. He is the son of the late Toronto street ball legend Shawn “Biggz” Green who passed away this past summer during a game. Offers from Duquesne, Colorado State, Bradley, Southern Miss, Sam Houston State, Norfolk State, Murray State, St. Bonaventure, Montana, and getting looks from LSU, Arizona State and TCU. Was a member of various Canadian National Basketball teams. Here he is playing against Mexico a few years ago: vimeo.com/25582604

Iona showing interest in two European players. On the radar: Andy van Vliet a 6-11 center out of Belgium and Matey Kamas a 6-4 guard playing in Slovenia. Apparently van Vliet is also being looked at by LaSalle, Arizona and others.

OT, maybe you can send some of Marie's good Italian cooking down to him, if he comes to New Ro. He'll gain the 25 lbs. in no time. Just make sure you send enough for the non athletes, so we don't get in trouble with the NCAA.
P.S. Does the early signing period start this Wednesday?

Will go out on a limb...We will beat the spread rather easily in the George Mason game...Fun guess 78-65.....We blew a 20+ point lead in the 2nd half on their court last year...We were free and loose in the lst half, but we froze as the score became point by point closer and crowd got louder and louder in 2nd half......

I like this kid's game Andy van Vliet. Feel like he would be a great fit for iona, his ability to knock down the shot and his raw talent. Keeping my fingers crossed on this kid.

Budweiser is owned by a Belgium company, though I don't know the name. Anheuser-Busch InBev. Belgian(Interbrew)/Brazilian (AmBev). The letter two merged before the acquisition of Anheuser-Busch (Budweiser) in 2006.
