If we only have 2 scholarships left and we need instant help upfront does it make sense to go after another shooting guard and a big that would have to sit out a year? How will that address our needs for next year? Am I missing something. Again I know the Rutgers transfer is just speculation but if it's true does it make sense

McGlynn would be eligible next year. But I agree, we need a goon in the paint.

Guy, from one short guy to another, not ALL guys over six feet tall are goons. And if one guy who is well over six feet tall is reading this board, or the MAAC board he might not appreciate that description. Just sayin.
Also, who is Kyrie Durant? See tweet below.

I want a 6-10 lunatic in the paint. His real name is Nigel Ribiero, a guard from Va I believe.

Lunatic is a much better description. And who is Nigel Ribiero?

Ribiero is a 6'0'' PG from Va. made first team all Tidewater team this season. Believe he is playing in an all star game today. To be honest have no idea why the staff is recruiting a HS PG for next season. And having Mcglynn visit a couple of days ago. As well as the JUCO PG who was offered last week, though he just received a BCS offer. Would have to think there is a 3rd scholarship opening up, with the obvious need for "bigs" with the 2 remaining scholarships

Yet another big that doesn't want us.....

Sharkey, you say that it is OBVIOUS that we have a need for bigs. There is an O in obvious, but no O in Iona, Oh, wait a minute.......... . (SF)

Ok. But Houston is a bigger school from a bigger conference. Can we really complain about losing this recruit?

We make a lot of 'offers', but I, for one, have no idea where/how our 'offers' are ranked by the staff. And keep in mind we might have offered a kid six months ago, and during that six month period, guys have popped up that excite the staff even more. As I said I have no idea where the recruits are ranked. One thing we do have, and that is that TC and the staff will make Christmas come early for Gael fans.

McGlynn committed to Rhode Island. Solid player, but not really what Iona needed
