St Louis Gael, very conflicted with my Rangers losing and a fellow UMaine Alum Ben Bishop winning. Hopefully leads the to the Cup. Just wish the Rangers could get it done.

RICKY MCGILL – SPRING VALLEY - IONA COMMIT Didn't play much. Looked good with the ball, made a few threes and some put backs.
KAI MITCHELL – SPRING VALLEY - IONA COMMIT No show.
BRYCE AIKEN – ST. PATRICK’S 2016 - ESPN 4 STAR RECRUIT Stole the show. Amazing handle. Good shooter.
MOHAMMAD BAMBA – WESTOWN - 2017 - ESPN 5 STAR (TOP 25 PLAYER) Best player on the court. Looks like a future pro. Dunks, steals, 3s, tons of blocks. All at 6'10 or 6'11
UNIQUE MCCLEAN – MCDUFFIE -2016- IONA RECRUIT High-flying, highlight real dunks. Strong defender. Bad shooter. Compiles a ton of points in all-star games, but curious how that would translate at D1 level.
MATT RYAN – IONA PREP, NOTRE DAME COMMIT Had a few dunks, which is rare. Battled with Aiken all night. Puts on a good show but shoots too much.
TOM CAPUANO – IONA PREP - MANHATTAN COMMIT Played well, sees the floor so nicely. Didn't score much but ran the point very well.
ELIJAH HUGHES – JFK-SOMERS - 2016 - IONA RECRUIT Didn't do much and barely played.
LENNY KADISHA – WADLEIGH - DOING POSTGRADUATE AT COASTAL ACADEMY NEXT SEASON - IONA RECRUIT Aggressive, big guard. Would like to see what happens after a prep year.

If Capuano can play Division 1... so could McGuinness.

We should have gone to Greenburgh! Indeed! Rangers taken down by the kid from the STL. Tough night. Like the Gaels, Rangers only get to hang the regular season banner. Revealed after that Ryan McDonagh had played the last few games on a broken foot. Warrior.

Yes, they both played. McLaughlin didn't play much and was overmatched against the high Major kids. I always liked his game and wondered why he couldn't get a D1 sniff but he'll be a great D2 player.
McGuiness played well and def held his own. Probably the most consistent shooter aside from Aiken. He would kill it in our system akin to Casimir, small, good handle, great shooter, tough. He'll be awesome at Adelphi.

@evandaniels: Travis Atson will decide in the "next couple of weeks" if he's going to reclassify to 2015. If he does, he's down to DePaul, UCSB & Iona.

You hear about players "reclassifying" quite frequently. What exactly is involved in "reclassifying" and what are the implications from a recruiting perspective both academically and athletically? Is it something a recruit must do with the NCAA? Anyone know?

Cjb, I don't know, but guess 'paperwork' and the Clearinghouse is involved

Thanks 86. So a kid could reclassify to a later graduation year to garner an added year academically and athletically then in Atsons case, back to his original year. The hold back I could understand, the move forward is what prompted my confusion. I guess it really isn't a move forward if the player changes his mind and opts to stay within his original graduation year. I imagine as IC59 mentioned, the NCAA Clearinghouse is involved in all of this.
Sounds like a great player and with that high motor would fit right in with TC's style. Hope he becomes a Gael.

So long as he has graduates, has taken the required class with the minimum grade average and done well on either the SAT or ACT's, he should have zero problem with the clearinghouse.
