Sigh. Repeat: the NCAA has yet to rule on Pelle. Sent from my ADR6300 using proboards Guy, I was only referring to devastating loss per his unsubstantiated post. It should be easy to see if his courses qualify or not. It must be the usual red tape. What doesn't make sense is, why wouldn't Norvell qualify earlier if it were just a matter of getting classes taken? It seems to me that there is more to the story.

Hey IONA86, I am an alumni and have been reading this blog for awhile. The main reason I got involved was because I know NP is not coming and I felt it was better for you to know now instaed of keeping your fingers crossed for something that has already been decided. I will be posting more often and look forward to chatting as our W's pile up.

IONA86, I was told the unwillingness part of it, lets face it classes started awhile ago. My opinion is that him not starting classes cannot possibly sit well with the NCAA. So maybe a double edge sword.

So maybe a double edge sword. I don't think it sits well with any of us either. It looks like this is not going to happen. It has become a distraction.

Time to turn the page. We have a team filled with players that actually want to be here. Let's support them, and forget about Pelle. If he wanted to play for Iona he'd be here already. Hard to know what's in a kid's head, or what he's being told, but if he ever wants to play in the pros he needs to get his act together and start playing. Somewhere.
Major kudos to the coaching staff for snagging Jackson. From what 86 posted and what I've found online over the last day, I think Jackson will be a huge help.

Exactly, it's not like he will be playing for another school. Iona has been around a long time without him and we will be around a long time to come. I strongly feel that him not attending is his loss, because it would have been a very positive experience for him.

Still nothing on this on the internet. Sorry, not buying it.
And this has nothing to do with the kid. I don't give a shit whether he comes or not.

The internet means nothing, please, he is not coming. I would have thought you would welcome a new member with information that is accurate. I am not trying to be a know it all,I'm just letting you know what is going on.

The internet means nothing, please, he is not coming. I would have thought you would welcome a new member with information that is accurate. I am not trying to be a know it all,I'm just letting you know what is going on. So on September 10 you post inside information regarding the eligibility of Norvel Pelle, yet somehow 1 day later said information has not gotten to the Iona coaching staff or mainstream national college basketball media, which were all over this kid's commitment to Iona. Shit, it hasn't even gotten to Norvel Pelle. As I said, it would not be a shock if he did NOT qualify, and, also as I said, I don't give a shit whether he comes or not. Let's just say I don't trust you. If a report comes out later today that proves you right, I will tip my hat to you and apologize. Anything else, and you'll need to admit you were incorrect to all of us to remain on this board. Because even if Pelle is announced as not qualified tomorrow, that's 2 days after your "report", and I'd call that a coincidence. I can post right now, "Pelle is qualified, my sources told me so", and a week from now if it is announced he is qualified, I look like an insider when in fact it would just be coincidence. The fact is this is an NCAA matter, and no fan, coach, media member or handler of Pelle has any "inside info" on this, because no NCAA member would leak it to anyone in this day and age. So, you'll excuse me if I don't take your bait on this one. And as I said, if news breaks today, I'll gladly apologize and give credit where it is due.

Wow! Looks like people are getting a little hot under the collar. I expect we'll find out in pretty short order if tsquared's info is fact or conjecture. Or perhaps its conjecture that just ends up being factual. In any event its not worth getting worked up about.
