Always a good win to beat an ACC team on the road. Wake is a bad team but still a tough win on the road. I am the first to complain about the refs but didn't see what others saw tonight. Gaels played more like a team than the first two games. Free throw shooting was abysmal and kept wake in it, I think we made 1-2 the last 10 times on the line. Some other thoughts: at meet the Gaels I didn't think Dublin fit in with Cluess style but to get no minutes is strange. Cluess commented in pre game that they use to think they needed size but he feels now they are just a better team with their small lineup. Doubt you will see him ever with a big lineup. IBN a is a nice point guard. Sed, even when he seems to to do little, scores double digits. English had some big shots. IW was all over the floor. Hines with some big threes but seems injury prone. I call Amayo the runaway truck, when he has it in his hands he scares you, can be brilliant or out of control. Need to play well in Texas, that is not an easy game. Try to be 4-2 going into the Maac opener but that will be a very tough game, I think at Monmouth may be one of the toughest Maac games of the year. good post Joebird

Iona missed way to many foul shots, but the disparity in calls was blatant. Sorry, I didn't think the calls were outrageous. I think you guys are way overstating the calls being horrible. Very proud of Hines. He stepped up. Lots of guys did play well. Just shakes down the stretch. Never said the calls were outrageous. Simply stating the fact that there were a few homer calls down the stretch. In fact you have to expect that playing a BCS team on the road. Its part of the game. 4th foul on Larry was ridiculous, in my opinion. Got to keep your composure and make FTs. That's on us.

Until WF started intentionally fouling the disparity in foul calls was really lopsided in Wake's favor. The refs also kept Thomas in the game after clearly throwing him out. That said, we have to to a much better job of foul shooting. Nice win. Good minutes from Hines too. Hope his finger is OK.

As for ESPN3 - I just purchased a new router and that helped, picture on my iPad was very clear and better than in the past but the game still got stuck 3 times, and I had to shut down and start over again. Still think espn3 is not where Maac semis should be shown. Its still not good enough, too many people don't have what is needed to make it work. Maac needs to get the semis on ESPNU.

Batting 1.000 in calling shots against Wake. Maybe we should schedule them every season. :-) How did you do on the call about Robinson getting minutes ? I said he would be starting...on the bench. But auto correct cut off the 2nd part. :-)

This was a character building win. Not one of our best played games, but that happens when he whistles are always blowing against you. Team could have folded, but didn't, they gutted out a tough road win. Nice contributions by Hines and Ibn Muhammed. With decent officiating, this should have been an easy double digit win, but we'll happily take it. So glad that TC did not earn a technical for complaining to the refs, and that their coach did by calling a time out that they didn't have.

i liked the 7 we played, 8th man should be robinson when we need one, hines shows no fear against the big boys, last year in kansas and now at wake, might not be the best but he has plenty of upside

When DL was in foul trouble and Hines jammed his fingers, a number of us in the chat room were wondering why Dublin and Robinson were not receiving any love.

Doesn't have to be simply a foul disparity to get jobbed AJ called for a travel at a crucial moment when in reality the defender is hanging all over him. Turnover for us; not a foul on them. I'm surprised we react the way we do when it happens. You want to beat a BCS team on the road you basically have to kill them. Homer calls are to be expected. Lets work on relaxing on the FT line.
I simply can't get angry at our guys for losing a game on the road where we basically every call down the stretch goes against us. Even if they are 50-50 calls we're not getting them there.

hard to get foul calls when we are shooting 3's Or when AJ is bear hugged by a defender and traveling is called?
