Nice to see on the Seton Hall board a 50 post thread on Smythe...they all fell in love with him and his family. Since his college playing days are now over just want to wish him all the best in the future. Nothing I enjoyed more to watch when he got hot and drained three after three. Just a question..there was debate on the SHU board if Kyle could have played at Iona this year if he wanted to or did he have to transfer to a school with a post grad program?

If the idiots in Jersey knew anything about him they would have known he was already 25% of the way towards an MBA when he arrived there. Kyle is a special kid and will be a great success in life... he is a unique combination of personality, dedication and decency that will assist him in becoming a winner. Good luck to Kyle!!!!!

I fully expect Kyle to be an active Iona alum. He's a great guy with a great family.

I wonder how Willard is going to approach coaching this year. Is he going to develope his game plans and strategies first and then present them to Tiny to get Whitehead's approval, or will he first seek Whiteheads input from Tiny and then develope a plan and strategy for approval? This has disaster written all over it and wreaks of desperation!

Here's the first response to your question:
"Isaiah Whitehead flops in Seton Hall debut as Pirates beat Mercer in season-opener
Whitehead, the McDonald's All-American from Brooklyn's Lincoln High School, scored just two points on 1-for-10 shooting before getting benched by head coach Kevin Willard. 'I thought Isaiah played terrible. And you know what? I knew he (would),' Willard said after Sunday's 63-47 win."

Willard sounds like he knows he's in trouble.
Also, he says: "I thought Isaiah played terrible. And you know what? I knew he (would,)" Willard said. "I'll tell you why: last night . . . I went and checked every freshman - this conference has unbelievable freshman in it - and looked at how many minutes they played, how they played. Not one guy in their first game played good. He is a big-time player who has got a big-time talent, but it's also a huge learning curve for him."
Should have checked out Casimir.

Super, only difference with Casimir, is that he played against better competition.
