Frink transferring from FIU. We were in the discussion up until he decided on FIU as were Hofstra and Quinnipiac.

I don't remember is he a big? He is listed as 6'6" but does play bigger. He would be a very good MAAC level player. Was rated an 86 by ESPN. Is strong, can run and jump.

Just saw Jamill Powell is playing in a JUCO showcase in Texas this weekend for unsigned players. Also saw the name Tobe Okafor 6'11'' center. Is this a kid Iona has recruited? seem to remember the name. there are over 40 kids playing that are at least 6'8'', would assume the staff might be there since that seems to be a need with one of the remaining scholarships

Hw is the kid that signed with Loyola Marymount. and then asked for his release late in the process. We then got involved with him along with Drexel, Hofstra, Auburn, Cincinnati, SJU, Memphis, Georgetown, Ohio State, Marquette and Nova. He ended up enrolling in Erie CC and then transferred to Western Texas College. He is athletic and strong, can block shots and rebound. I do not know if we still have any interest. He did not do much in Texas.

Nick Malonga,a 6-6 forward from McHenry Community College, will take an official visit to Iona this weekend, according to a Tweet. Averaged 22 points 7 boards at MCC. I believe he just completed his first year at MCC, Chrystal Lake, IL. Don't know if he is elegible '14 or '15.

James Madison transfor Taylor Bessick has offers from Iona and Siena. 6-9 forward, just finished soph year. Averages of 22.2 minutes, 6.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 50% FGs. I didn't see anything saying he'd be eligible for 2014, so consider him 2015.
