As SID has informed us it's 9AM (Men) and 10:30AM (Women) as part of HC weekend. I expect to be there for both, and am wondering who else is going? As we won't have an exhibition game(s) this will be our only chance to catch the Gaels in action prior to the start of the season. Maroon Madness, imo, is only good to find out which recruits/potential recruits were on hand to watch layup drills. But I'm hoping to see the following on Saturday morning:
*A good turnout.
*Who is sitting out with injuries(seems inevitable).
*Whether our two big freshmen can run the floor in order to keep up with the TC offense.
*Who is playing PG.
*Does IW look as good as he did in the pickup games during the summer. And is he really the best player on the team as some suggested at the October 1st meeting with the coaches in NYC.
*Has Tavon improved as a ball handler and shooter. And decision maker.
*Will Kelvin Amayo be on display, since I believe he can practice with the team.
*What can we expect from Scott and Ellis, since both have gotten very little ink.
*Has Sean's game improved overall, as it did between his soph and junior years. We all know he's a great long range shooter, and it's the other parts of his game that I'm interested in, including his leadership skills.
*And I'll be interested in reading the "takeaways" that others post after their first viewing.
*And who knows, maybe some recruiting news will leak out (now that is delusional).
On the Women's side:
*What is the style of the new coach.
*Damika was just named the MAAC's preseason POY. But I have to admit in the summer pickup games I was just as impressed with Joy Adams, giving us a great one-two punch.
*Has our PG play improved. IMO, that's the deciding point on how well we'll do in the MAAC. So I guess that Alyesha and Hayley will be critical to the team's success, unless one of the newbies is a PG.
*The 6'4 transfer from LaSalle, who is sitting out this year, but I assume can practice.
*Any info on potential recruits.
*Any surprises, good and bad.
*And again the feedback from other posters.
