Dayton now 21-9 after a great road win against #17 St. Louis 72-67. #8 Kansas now 23-7 after winning easily at home against Texas Tech 82-57. Nevada now 14-16 after a nice road win at Boise State 83-81 in double OT.
If anyone cares, Fordham fell to 9-19, losing at Rhode Island 77-65. Jon Severe tallied 3 points on 1 for 12 shooting. Perhaps Eric Paschall should reconsider that LOI he signed.

Good win for Dayton. And if Paschal comes to his senses and runs from Fordham I'm sure we could find a spot for him.

Would love Grasso to grab him from under their noses but he seems committed.

Westchester kids want to go away I think to someplace sexy. Hard for us to get them I think at this point. Now why he picked Fordham I cannot understand given the turmoil and challenges that program faces. He could go to GW or a lot of other "good academic" schools and not have to deal with the dysfunction at Fordham. He's very young though right? Maybe he doesn't want to go too far away. And maybe he's the kind of guy who wants to hide in the weeds and not play in big games. Head scratcher for sure.

The contract extension for Cluess will help in recruiting. Iona is committed to excellence, unlike much of our local competition for players. Paschall is a head scratcher. Why he would want to join a toxic waste dump of a program is incomprehensible.

Rider defeated Monmouth 71-60 to earn the right to play Iona on Saturday. St. Peter's defeated Fairfield 65-62 and will play Manhattan on Saturday. The Peacocks only shot 37% from the field, but outrebounded the Stags 41-26.
Florida Gulf Coast now 22-11 after winning at home versus East Tennessee State 69-64. George Mason now 11-18 after a nice road win at La Salle 59-57.

What a game Niagara vs. Marist turned out to be! Niagara shot 60% from the field, Marist only 38.6% and Antoine Mason scored 38 points. Niagara led by 24 points, 59-35 with 12:24 left to play. Marist closed to 78-76 with 14 seconds to play, and then fouled Mason, who missed both free throw attempts. But Khallid Hart missed a last second 3 point attempt (a/k/a Joebird special) and Niagara held on to win 78-76.

Important game for GW and they had to sweat it out. What I've noticed about Fordham over the years is that when they believe they have a chance for a win, usually at home, they play hard. Against tough competition, especially on the road, they basically mail it in and lose by 30. Either way the vast majority of times they end up losing. You can only schedule so many Furmans and St. Francis's of PA.
Love Armwood on GW. We have a guy like that and we're definitely a top 50 team, scratching top 25. Just takes one with the set of guys we have now.

Wofford now 19-12 after beating Georgia Southern 71-57. Florida Gulf Coast falls to 22-12, losing to Mercer 68-60 in the Atlantic Sun conference championship game.
Unfortunately, must give credit where credit is due: THE Ohio State upset #22 Michigan State, 69-67.

If Gulf Coast won their league that would've been a really nice win on the road for us.
