Finally! The long awaited breakout game by Williams! Took him forever! I had given up on him.

So very interesting game. Most conventional game, imo, that I've seen us play in a long time. We pushed it when we had and opportunity, but we played pretty well in the half court set I thought. When we had an 18pt lead, it felt like an 18 pt lead as the tempo felt pretty normal and we were taking time off the clock each possession, and still scoring.

Yes. Love how you take words out of context. Who said they don't like rebounds and assists? 20 assist loner. Why do you make up this crap? Very unbecoming. Very interesting post game press conference. Coach Cluess: "We only had 5 assists in the first half. We keep that up, we are not going to win many games. . ." Wonder why he makes that crap up?? Must be a loner too.

Thought the team played best defense overall in a long time--relatively. They were talking and pointing out switches. Armand doing a little "hot-dogging" after he hit a few 3s. Coach yanked him for a while in the 1st half after 2 consecutive horrible defensive lapses. I hope he stays under control. (He has a major rooting section behind the bench.) A bonus for me was speaking with OT at the game!!!!

Some observations: 1) Isiah Williams can light it up. Also shows impressive length on defense. 2) This is Sean Armand's team. No disappearing act today. He took control of the team and directed the defense. He looks like a coach on the court. He had some great hoops at a crucial time to seal the deal today. 3) AJ looked very poised at the point. Made solid decisions, protected the ball we'll and is a scoring threat from the point. 4) David Laury III is a stud. He can carry the team during the dry spells. It was great to see Robinson get some minutes spelling Laury (especially when he took a hard fact after getting tripped on a fast break. 5.) Poole isn't much of an offensive threat, but he gets some really key rebounds. I suspect that's what he is getting so much PT. 6.) Good to see better clock management with a lead. 7.) Tre didn't have a good day, but no worries. He will be a valuable asset on lots of nights. 8.) Good to see the students getting into the game. Hoped it picked the team up. 9.) Not sure I like the new paint job, but what the heck we're undefeated with it.

Back to reality, I hope the home fans all enjoyed the win!

Thoughts:
Good defensive performance
Poor offensive performance until the last 10 minutes. Armand seemed to wake up when he was put up top on D.
Williams is a stud, how he came off the bench game 1 I have no idea.
Poole much better as a contributor off the bench.
Robinson has huuuge potential
Gomez didn't even get in, in garbage time. He must be getting punished for something. The team could use him with Sledge hurt.
Ellis looked so good at Meet the Gaels but can't get any minutes, seems strange.
Team is still gelling but lots of potential, although unless Gaels are hot on Tuesday it could be ugly.
Lots of nice changes at Hynes including selling snacks in stands!
No question this team can win the Maac but will need t make big improvements, but I think possible.

Joebird, I was told that Gomez is hurt. And, imo, we would have had a bunch more assists if we hadn't missed so many in close shots. But kidding aside your main PG has to put up big assist numbers, if we're going to beat tough tams. IW had a VERY IMPRESSIVE stat line, and I think he'll lead the team in scoring. JMO.

IW is the total package. He is a very unselfish player and his style fits in with Cluess system. He has huge potential.
