"Guys wear really loud and obnoxious Iona gear and smoke cigars. Remember we're New Yorkers." lol and don't forget the Bronx raspberry after every steal. We need a coaching staff that looks like the Dead End kids! In other words, pretend you are at a home game.

ESPN is a free app for the IPad. If you have ROKU, you can stream it on your TV. Just some info that may help.

Word on the street is that they've got a pretty good team. Please nobody go on the Kansas board and give them a full scouting report on the Gaels. Its gonna be hard enough as it is, let's not make it harder. If I knew for sure Bill Self and the Kanas staff we're going to a Jayhawk message board to view a scouting report from an Iona fan; I'd go write 1 up right now. Iona chances of winning would inctease 10 fold if they used it Somehow I feel their preperation for the Gaels doesn't include a scouting report from any of us.

I understand your point Ghost, and I've been waiting for someone to make it. You're right, I don't expect Kansas to rely on message board posters to scout Iona. And since they've had a week to get tape on us from last year, I'm sure they have. While none of us are experts though, we do have some guys who are pretty astute basketball watchers, who know the team very well. If I'm an assistant charged with scouting a team, one of the first things I'd do is go to a message board to see if there is any info I could use. Why? Because it takes virtually no effort and I might get a nice roadmap regarding players ahead of viewing the tape, or tendencies about new players that aren't on the tape. All I'm saying, especially early in the year when the team has new players or in a tournament situation where the opponent doesn't know you and might even have just found out they are playing you, there is no need for anyone to give them even a little bit of help in preparation. We all want to talk up the Gaels. We can do so without providing specifics.

Just an aside, there is a fair amount of complaining about the lack of transparency with the current staff, regarding information. In the old days it could get out around campus that so and so was hurt, or broke up with his girlfriend, or decided to go on a bender for two weeks. It didn't make a publicly accessible message board that the entire country could access. Today re information in a competitive environment, you need to take advantage of anything you can to protect "trade secrets."

Bill, I will say with 100% confidence that coaches don't use message boards for scouting purposes.

I'll take your word for it Guy, but if I were a coach I think I would. Easy info to get me started.
