Wish Bozzella and DeFalco would stay off Twitter somewhat taking credit for victory (proud of former team; "my team and players", etc.) Ahhh.. I'm alright with that. Tony did so much for the program. Gotta be killing him that they pulled this off without him.

Damika for 2- 2.9 seconds to go--does not qualify by strict Joebird standards. Your right Super not a true buzzer beater. Don't know much about women's history but I do think they have had true buzzer beaters before. That's a nice win and hard to believe other coach/announcers wouldn't realize the magnitude of the win and why it would result in a big celebration.

Great victory, hopefully this will give fans the push they needed to show up and support the ladies at their home games. I hope your right 05, I've gone to the last two home games the Women have played against Marist, and the Hynes Center is a sea of red, Marist Women BB fans travel well to their games.

Damn. I meant to watch this and totally forgot about the game. This team knows how to close out games. Great win, and I am ok with Tony enjoying it. Great job Coach G.

Back on Dec. 11th, I posted "I haven't seen Marist play, but based on their results thus far, I would give the Lady Gaels a very good chance to be competitive with them." So happy that the Lady Gaels proved me right -- very impressive road win -- like smacking a bully in the nose in front of his (or her) friends. The rematch at Hynes should be very interesting indeed. Also, can't wait to see the next mid-major top 25 rankings for the ladies.

Brightest spot was the way the bench played. That's been the one glaring weakness. The scary thing is that this team could get better. Go Gaels!

IMO, while Damika hit the game winner and led the team in scoring(18 points) , along with Joy, Alayah Robinson was CLEARLY the POG. She came in the second half at about the 15 minute mark with us down 10, and proceeded to score a career high, 17 points, including four threes. Her play was the difference. I just hope that she can build on her fantastic performance.

Outstanding performance by the Lady Gaels. Congratulations to the players and coaches for ending that incredible Marist winning streak. Now, our Lady Gaels are in the midst of a great streak themselves.

Would be nice for the Lady Gaels to maintain the #1 seed in the conference. This way Marist can go in the bracket with the #2 and #3 and perhaps get knocked off. Mar 2-at Hynes Final game of season--prior to tournament Will Guy's beating a team 3x theory come into play. Good to avoid Marist until Finals. Announcer again deprecating team--""They celebrated more than Marist did when they beat Iona in MAAC finals last season!" I just watched some video from Pougkeepsie Journal (soemthing like that). They knew DM was getting the ball, they knew she was taking the final shot, they knew what she was going to do, they rotated the D to make her give it up; and they still could not stop her. That kid is ice! I don't get the big deal about the celebration. It lasted about 15 seconds, and one of the Iona coaches came out and got the ladies for the handshake line. If I'm the Marist coach, I tell my players: "You see that celebration out there; that is a compliment to you". I'm glad Tony is also celebrating. He worked his ass off for that moment. He recruited most of the players. From what I have seen of this team this year, this is Billi Godsey's team. She has pushed all the right buttons, and the players really respond to her. Go Gaels! Good post, OT!

SLG, you're right on about the celebration. Ridiculous for Marist to comment on it.
