Makes you appreciate how great Marist has been over the years, to be this consistent and to rarely have a slip up like last night.

I knew we were in trouble when I saw two things go wrong in the first half: 1. Kathy Lonegan was the lead ref. 2. Damika got called for her second foul when she dived on the floor for a loose ball (saw the same type of plays in the men's games that I watched, last night with NO fouls called).
P.S. Should add that McKenzie played great for Rider with 37/19.

Adams shot whipsaw funneled out. It would of been a true joebird special as the horn went off while the shot was in the air. Except that the game was tied correct not true buzzer beater if game is tied!

Martinez's third foul (the offense foul) was borderline at best, if the new mens rules are the same as the women's rules then the call was outright horrible!

Great game....Mark it down as the true arrival of Iona' women's basketball...IMO you will now see a appreciable increase in attendance...It had the intensity, feel and play that would match most of the men games I have watched............ The odds were stacked against the ladies...A close re-watching of the 2nd half will reveal that every time they opened a 5-6 point lead and appeared to ready to break open the game, the Refs. were sure to call a period of fouls that allowed Rider back into the game... I have been a casual fan of Women's basketball, but will now look forward to their games with anticipation.......
