The noticeable change in the style play of Armand was obvious, and the reason to me was at least appeared even more so...Armand had for almost four years had given Iona a honest, hard working team effort...He was nearing his college end, and was looking forward to Pro Career...In some way the word trickled down he needed to be and have more point guard ability, and if developed he along with his many other assists would be a very attractive candidate...It was time for his reward, and a close view of his late season play, along with recent tournament type stats would tend to prove it.....
Perhaps this type treatment and loyalty of his players by Cluess has led to his success as a recruiter and Iona the place to go for `player compassion....

Don't think Portsmouth was a time to change his game. Scouts were interested in him because of his three point shooting accuracy and range. Hopefully things work out for Sean and someone gives him a shot

If the shot is there take it...if not distribute the ball...rebound...it 's about the team winning...

He didn't change his game, he seemed to be the only person on the team who could pass, or wanted to pass and because he played to win he did that. I think he may have been the only player on his team and one of the few at the tourney that cared about winning, and not sure if that helped him at all with the nba scouts. I do think a scout somewhere with an international team may have been impressed with his leadership, teamwork and passing skills.

Sounds like a number of those types didn't do so well with per the Portsmouth thread...Sean not only scored but his play also resulted in his team mates scoring...displayed leadership skills and it seems a good BBall IQ...would be interested in his defensive evaluation ...let's agree to disagree on this one Jersey.

Jersey, why not ask your friend the scout in the Portsmouth thread. His take would be very welcome and informative.

Unless you have a well rounded all around game your chances of making the Pros. is just about zero...The days of the specialty are over and have been for several years...Armand and those that might be advising him are well aware of this, and are taking steps to overcome his deficiencies...It is well known what he can do, but are working hard to better his problem area's...That is the proper road to travel...
Iona has in recent years several outstanding players whose loyal supporters still cannot understand why they have ''Not made it''......One is a few inches to small to overcome many abilities....One despite his many outstanding abilities, cannot overcome his offensive liability...Another is a half step to slow...etc.
Pro Scouts are not swayed by any ''School Loyalty'' but by one thought.....''Can he play and contribute in the Pro world''...There is probably a hero in each of the 350 plus Div.1 teams, and with fans wondering why he has also not made it....
Armand and his advisors are taking right steps, and IMO he has with hard work and proper advice a better chance to make it then ''Iona hopefuls'' in recent past.....
I wish him well..........He has already made it into the world of ''Good Guys''

According to my source and I'm inclined to believe him, a lot of players that come to these events get bad advise from their agents or friends. Every scout has a book on these players and are aware of "their" game. The idea is to showcase your strengths not change your game in a short window of opportunity. There are teams for instance that are looking for a player who can come off the bench and give them some offense by being able to hit some 3's. Let's hope Sean showed enough to some team to get another look.

Over the years there have been hundreds and hundreds of players who in their eagerness to showcase their strength have exposed along with it their deficiencies.... Without doubt Pro Scouts see the game with a different view then do the average rooting fan, and would not last long if it was otherwise.....

Believe it or not scouts don't get to see every player even with all the media available. Just heard however from my source that Sean was evaluated pretty high at Portsmouth which should get him some invites. The comment I heard was that you could tell he can really stroke it. Great news!
