Siena fans are what they are...They live in Fantasy land and truly believe that contrary to fact they for the past few years have been among the bottom dwellers they belong among higher company... But some credit must be given that they have had a good season......They have raised their recruiting level, although not great has improved...They have a distinct ''Home Court'' advantage above other MAAC teams...But the biggest factor has been coaching...Pathos although not among the best is a vast improvement over the listless Mitch Bounaguro. His high level energy has instilled a beginning to the recovery of the team, and the return of their superior attitude... Welcome back Siena...You can with a fan ''reality check'' raise the MAAC's conference standard.....

Being objective it's fair to say that Siena is trending upward. Patsos has done a good job and has a young team, that should contend for second place, next year. And then with the tourney being played on their home court, they should have a shot at the NCAA's.

About time that Siena starts pulling their weight. They've been an RPI anchor for the MAAC.

I'm sure Patsos is generally a good guy. But I watched him up close on Thursday. Something must happen in his brain when the horn goes off to start a game. A lot of coaches are tough on kids and will yell at times. He is genuinely abusive to his players. They often look right over to the bench if they may a mistake waiting to get pulled and reamed out with a profanity laced tirade.

As you all know from some of my past posts, I like Jimmy Patsos. Can he be crazy as a loon on the sidelines, yep. He can be crazier than his mentor, Gary Williams (who I never liked). But Jimmy is a good coach and his players genuinely like him. Aside from my pleasant personal experiences with him, I will always appreciate the fact that he advocated an at-large bid for Iona a couple of seasons ago when the Hounds beat Iona in the MAAC Championship game.
Go Gaels!!!

I kinda shanked that, greg. I suppose that I blocked out our loss to FF in the semis.
Go Gaels!!!

Yeah I think off the court he's a great guy. In the sidelines he's Mr. Hyde.

He is indeed crazy on the sidelines, but he does have a great sense of humor. I remember one game he was jawing with the refs. One of the refs warned him about getting "T"ed up (like that scares Jimmy). To show his displeasure he went up and sat in the student section for a while. He's a colorful guy,
Go Gaels!!!

Agree Z although "colorful" is often a euphemism for crazy.

That's why I used both "crazy" and "colorful" in my post. ;-)
