Somebody had to do it... At large 5%. Tough loss.. But hurts a little less than I thought it would. My kids learned some new swear words tonight but at least we are guaranteed another game for Armand and Tre..... Thoughts?

Please remove the at large title. We have no shot. Zero.

Agreed but 5% says it all and I'm sure we'll all watch the selection show anyway

Let's pick ourselves up and get a good run going in the NIT. Seasons not over and this team has a lot of heart.

We are projected to be somewhere in the 6-7 seed range in the NIT. While that would likely keep us away from SJU in the 1st round, it's still possible if they lose their first BE game against Providence. Quick list of some interesting potential matchups in order of preference:
1. SJU 2. Gtown 3. St. Mary's 4. NC State 5. Ole Miss 6. UNLV 7. Penn State 8. Minnesota 9. Indiana 10. LSU

Unlikely to get a home game 1st round--students are on spring break.

05....Lavin states in todays NY Post that win or lose against Providence they will get in with 8-10 wins against teams with RPI's of 200 or worse, perhaps a 50-50 conference record and 12 losses overall a at large bid...He has the backing of New Yorks newspapers...A result of a well run ''get in at any cost'' effort....

Interesting that RPI is 61 with Manhattan @ 63. Pomeroy 75; Manhattan 68 Sagarin 81; Manhattan 72
Manhattan has more wins than all but 8 teams in country (tied with 5 @ 25).

Unlikely to get a home game 1st round--students are on spring break. Super, I highly doubt we'd get a home game regardless. gtm72, have to agree with those who asked for you to remove "at large" from this thread title - that's true delusion. Leave it as an NIT thread and accept reality.

Lots of league upsets which pushes us up, we are probably a 6 seed, outside chance 5. Would need to win and have an upset to be home, this is not the old nit where local teams were given home opportunities to try to get them to reach the garden, plus it was run by New Yorkers, now the NCAA runs it, much tougher tournament then last time we were in it.

Looking forward to our fourth consecutive year of a post season tournament. Not half bad. I don't think we've ever had that before.

Leave it as an NIT thread and accept reality. AD needed to complete an NIT survey which included a question about spring break schedule, I wouldn't read too much into that. Likely SOP for all teams locked up and on the NIT bubble. I would also love to be wrong on this, but I highly doubt it.
