1970, as far as I know the home/away games are more upfront in the NIT. Like the NCAA they have four regions, with eight teams in each. Teams are seeded from one to eight, with the higher seeds playing at home. One plays eight, two-seven, etc. The exception is that the higher seeded's arena isn't available. The winner of each region goes to MSG, thus you have to win three games to make it to the Garden. Or that is the way I understand it.

ic59, I know that what i'm saying is I don't think st johns will be high enough seeded to play in the first round, so if we both win as say 6 and 7 seeds we will play in the 2nd round of the east hopefully

They tend not to go strictly by rpi and usually give the benefit of the doubt to majors over mid majors when it comes to seeding.

Wow. Didn't know you had those desires. Yeah got to say I'm not interested in that. Being a lawyer what I'd like to do is charge them a boatload of fees.

Does anyone know what the best Iona performance has been in the NIT ? Have they ever won a few games in a row?

They have won 1 game, back in 1983, when they beat the Bonnies at home. They have lost on the road at Rutgers in 82, Nebraska in 83, St. Joes at home in 96, UConn on the road in 97. That's what I remember.
