Is this right? Believe this leaves us with three open roster spots, which I would assume we'll look to fill by adding 1 quality big, 1 ball handler to take some pressure off AJ, and then whoever the best available is after that, regardless of position.
C - Robinson (So) F - Laury (Sr) F - Williams (Jr) F - Hines (So) F - Scott (Fr) F - Young (Jr) G - Amayo (So) G - English (Jr) G - Sledge (Sr) G - Ellis (So)
Starting Five: English Amayo Williams Laury ??

Still haven't given up on Sledge. Me either, but the Coach yells at him 3 minutes into the game in 90% of the games he plays and we don't see him again.

That's a lot of talent returning. We'll need significant minutes from Hines and Robinson. Scott as well.

Sledge can give us meaningful minutes next year. Tough to see him as a starter with Amayo and AJ in the mix, but if he puts work in the offseason into his jumper he can be a major contributor. Right now I see him as more of a situational type substitute when we need to push the ball or need a sparkplug on defense, but there's a long offseason ahead and still plenty of room for change.

I'm drawing a blank. Who is Young? On Najeal Young (McMillan): This kid looks like a slightly stronger and quicker version of Randy. He looks like he can use either hand equally well. Here is a review of his play two years ago I found on SLAM online: Najeal McMillan, 6-5, SF, Wisconsin Playground Warriors Though he doesn’t have the ideal height for a power forward or the skill set you envision in a small forward, Najeal McMillan is the type of guy who every coach dreams of. At TOC, the athletic combo forward was all over the place playing whatever role Wisconsin Playground Warriors head man Ritchie Davis needed of him. The lefty defended a number of positions, was a monster on the glass, and scored from either forward position all weekend long. You aren’t going to catch him going to UNC or Duke, but Najeal is exactly the type of player who every mid-major coach needs on their roster if they hope to win games. He put up some good points against Indian Hill (Mike Haynes old school) Indian hills features a sick lineup including: Jameel McKay 6'9" PF ( Marquette # 3 JUCO recruit) Jelan Kendrick 6'6" SG( UNLV # 7 JUCO recruit/ Former ESPN top 50 recruit, MCDonald's All American and former Memphis commit) Dustin Hogue 6'6" SF (Iowa State #30 JUCO recruit and Yonkers native) Richard Amardi 6'9" PF (Iowa State #50 JUCO recruit and ESPN rated 88) Ronald Ross 6'4" SG (Middle Tenne #64 JUCO recruit and ESPN rated 83) Rawane Ndiaye 6'10" C (Tennessee commit) Ronnie Stevens 6'8" PF/C ( Former Hawaii Commit) Frank Williams 6'5" SG (Former Detroit Commit and rated 89 by ESPN) NaJeal banged in 26 points and 4 rebounds in 20 minutes of play in the first game. The second game he fouled out after 12 minutes but had 16 points and 4 rebounds. These teams have a history of playing very physical with each other. Last years game saw 59 personal fouls, five technical fouls, two flagrant fouls and an ejection (Michael Haynes) so the refs might have been very touchy to keep these games from getting out of hand. Najeal goes to the hoop with conviction but that makes him a bit foul prone. When you were his size in high school people got out of the way... when you are driving against guys bigger that will not happen. He looks like a very good pickup who can play either SF or PF if needed. Some more: www.kirkwoodeagles.com/article/340.php

Stretch him out another inch or two and we have our Rhamel Brown with range in the middle. Looks like a great pick-up.
