OT My question was why "should we lose" to Indiana St and Wake Forest" Nothing to do with rest of OOC games. Looking for your perceptive pre-season analysis.

Looking for your perceptive pre-season analysis.[/quote] SUPER.......Little research I can do at this time of year shows Wake is reported to be a team on the upswing...If that proves correct and with home court, we got our work cut out for ourselves. They played opposing teams tough late last year.. Picked Indiana State because they are also going to be tough according to search reports, and I don't think we will win all 4 home games...Their RPI is close to ours...and they always seem to have very good height which is going to be problem. I could have used ''We may lose'' instead of ''We should lose'' I hope I am wrong in both cases....

As I was looking over web sites of the various OOC teams we will play and played last couple of years, I thought I would pass on various post I came across commenting on IONA... Some from the bigger schools of whose fans never heard of IONA.....
''Iona very impressive, they go up and down all day'' ''That is one of the better teams we will meet all year'' ''It sure was no breather'' ''WOW'' ''They are a very good team''
There were many other such type post scattered around the board...Be proud.

If you have three plus hours to spare, take a look at ESPN3 and the 2014 MAAC Basketball Coaches Roundtable. Not much news, but a very interesting look at MAAC coaches and the evolving world of D1 basketball.

epatrick, are you up at 3 AM? Just getting up, or just going to bed? Possibly, you're in another time zone?

Not much news, but a very interesting look at MAAC coaches and the evolving world of D1 basketball. I watched part of it. Very good stuff. Rather frightening the way Ensor paints the direction the 5 BCS conferences want to take college hoops. Also, great insight from the coaches regarding the minimal contact the NCAA has imposed on their ability to see recruits. That said, "The NCAA has cited UConn for a secondary violation of rules after reviewing Geno Auriemma's congratulatory phone call to Little League star Mo'ne Davis last month."www.courant.com/sports/uconn-womens-basketball/hc-geno-auriemma-mone-davis-0905-20140904,0,4244312.story

Everyone thinks it's stupid to consider it a violation. But it's still a violation. UConn cheats as it is.

are we adding more games or are we wasting the fact that we are in a tournament and can add games?

Some corrections on confirmed dates for OOC schedule so far: @ Wofford (11/18 confirmed, 7 AM for ESPN Tip-Off Marathon) @ Wake Forest (11/21 confirmed) @ North Texas (11/23 nearly confirmed) @ Arkansas (11/30 nearly confirmed) @ George Mason (12/20 confirmed) @ UMass (12/30 confirmed) vs Cleveland State (11/14 confirmed) vs Delaware State (11/26 confirmed) vs Indiana State (12/13 confirmed) vs FGCU (date TBD, confirmed ) Friend @ FGCU said we're confirmed but date is difficult, since they play 11/17, 19, 30; 12/7, 14, 19, 28, 30; 1/2, 5. (They have a same year home & home with UC Santa Barbara.) Hope we don't do one of those Christmas week games where nobody shows up. Think we have to leave 12/5-7 for MAAC.Pointed out earlier that schedule is difficult for the FGCU game. Negotiations probably ongoing to see which team has to put this game very close to another. Wouldn't be surprised if it gets scheduled for 12/22 or 23. No final word on additional game--still under discussion. If it's a home & home arrangement, there's always debate about which team gets the first home game. (Year 2--contracts get broken, coaches leave, team may be losing talent year 2, etc.)
