Strange silence from Manhattan on this. I wonder if they were waiting for Elite 8 to be finished before they gave an update in order to avoid national discussion of the topic. How long does it take to verify degree status and then make a decision? If they wait much longer he will be able to earn that degree. He has already started his Masters.

Hey, don't knock Nigeria. The son of the King of Nigeria is a friend and is helping me with my finances. And being a close friend, I don't have to call him Prince.

Since I've been wrong all along on this, I'll give it another try. If they waited this long they are trying to find a way to keep him. Either that or fearful that they don't have enough of a case to get rid of him without paying.

How can Manhattan keep Mass if he actually told kids on the current team to come with him. Plus the article asserts that he actually signed a contract which was negated by USF 12-hours later. Mass is a good coach with questionable ethics. But he can be replaced. Don't wish him any ill will but this mess is of his own making. Manhattan should be true to its ideals.

Either that or fearful that they don't have enough of a case to get rid of him without paying. Nearly 2 weeks without a next step from MC or a word from Massiello. Looks like negotiations going on--probably to keep him. References on Manhattan board about their Trustees being divided. Think back to Cluess & Hofstra where Nyre took charge. Big difference when you relegate an executive decision to a board.

Big difference when you relegate an executive decision to a board. Manhattan is agonizing on this decision for so long that soon they will have backed themselves into their least desired option - keep Masiello. Evidently, there is no consensus so the decision is being made for them. At this stage, both parties (Manhattan and Masiello) are only buying themselves a litle time. It will not end well. I agree with Super: leadership is absent.

There is one BIG question, still unanswered: * * * * * * * * What happened to SM's final four ticket?

I believe Manhattan is waiting for the NACC Tournament to be over before we hear a decision. I don't they or the NCAA would be happy with Manhattan headlines taking away from the big dance.

Actually, they wanted to make the announcement last Saturday, a slow news day, but Siena didn't want it to interfere with their CBI championship. They threatened to lodge the Jaspers at the Albany Red Roof Inn, during next year's MAAC championship, and Manhattan backed down.
