Jon Severe is Rookie of the Year? Granted he averaged over 17 points a game, but he chucked up nearly 500 shots this season and only made 33% of them. Also, had just 62 assists for the season, but 83 turnovers. Nice job of rewarding mediocrity and selfish play.

resumeman, you make a lot of valid points. I guess the Committee thought that if Fordham didn't have him, they would have been pretty bad. (Smiley Face)

Kind of embarrassing naming Massielo as COY? Seriously, three players on three squads--with 2 returning! Very nice!

Look on Guy's twitter account. Somebody posted that Lavin couldn't coach. Gee, what a scoop!

Also, Iona had three honorees compared to STJ's two. Iona clearly matters and the committee, I think, is consistent in the way they vote so that's perfectly fair. They don't just hand over the awards to the high major players in the area. I think they liked the fact that Harrison came back after being down and out, straightened out his issues, and had a great year.

I'm trying to think of who should have gotten ROY instead of Severe and I can't think of anyone. Rysheed Jordan or Isaiah Williams? I don't think so. Severe got it by default because it wasn't a very strong year for rookies in the area.

Severe got it by default because it wasn't a very strong year for rookies in the area. IW is by far the better player than Severe, with a much higher upside. But I don't see the award going to a sophomore. It was a fairly weak year for freshman performance in the met area, so Severe got it by default.

Maybe Khallid Hart? He was better in every statistical category with the exception for ppg. Hart also took 167 less shots.

No other rookie has a higher upside than Jordan, but he didn't deserve the award, because overall, the season he had didn't warrant it. He had such a poor start and he was so inconsistent.

JaKarr Sampson leaves the Johnnies for the Draft and is 2nd team All Met. Not a shot Rekson . Just doesn't compute.

I don't think Sampson is going to make it this year either, sigael. But check out the workout video on Rumbleinthegarden.com. He definately has a high ceiling. Could he have improved this much, especially with his jumper. Maybe we should hire this guy for player development. Maybe our players would stop regressing and start developing.
