congrats. I wonder if we have seen the last of Jason as a Card.

congrats. I wonder if we have seen the last of Jason as a Card. I think it will be his last year with them. (Would love to see the Giants pick him up.) Cards could have used him. I thought the manager misused his relief staff--key to the series, IMO. Will you root for KC now? Great event for that city. I loved them in the 70s-80s as they frequently beat the Yankees.

Motte is done, he'll be picked up by someone else for veteran leadership but that's about it.

Jason's future will depend on whether a winter of rest will strengthen his arm. Before Tommy John surgery he touched 98-99 with regularity. After the surgery he topped out (in the games that I was able to follow on Gamecast) at about 93. It might be wishful thinking on my part, but as a Cardinal and Gael fan, that we might have not seen the last of Jason as a Major League pitcher.

Nah, I'm too provincial for that. On to the Gaels for me.

I'm also not all the way there that the Cards will cut him loose. As you saw from Rosenthal, the Cards may need his veteran leadership and he is very popular in St. Louis. Not at $3 MM though.

Taveras was clearly destined to be a cornerstone for the Cards. His homerun against the Giants was memorable. (Been a disappointed Giants fan for 60 years-- except lately. They have a chance to join the Cards in the NL record books with 3 championships in a 5 year period.)

SLG and Super, Sunday (to me) was what this life is all about. A great win for my football Cardinals and a great loss for my baseball Cardinals. As the bible says, or I at least think it does, "The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away".

Congrats to Madison! Bruce did a great job by doing nothing. Guess the Giants did OK. Although I knew nothing about the Royals going in, I found myself rooting for them as the Series progressed. Too bad, they don't include the post season in CY Young award. Madison erased everything accomplished by Kershaw with his post season performance. In our world, UCONN is national champ for what they did in NCAA tournament, not for what was their regular season record.

Weird but entertaining Series: Essentially, 6 blowouts and a nerve-wracking finale! Team knows how to win!
