Who do you think will be the breakout player for this upcoming season? In my opinion AJ was last years breakout player. The breakout player is the player who earns that starting spot we never envisioned or takes their game to another level. My pick for 2014 is Isaiah Williams. Last year he played his role. This year Cluess will expect more of him and he will deliver. He has the focus and hunger to win. He will fill the stat sheet and create energy on the floor. He may not have a high scoring average, but he will be key.

Williams is the obvious choice, but I'm going to say Hines. If he can stay healthy, I see a big jump in his production

Agree with Tau. IW is a star and will have a huge season. I really like Hines game. Plays tough and smart and at 6'10'' can stretch the defense out to the three point line. Was showing signs before getting hurt. Would love to see a frontcourt of DL, IW and Hines.

I agree that Williams is expected to make a big jump, which by definition is a breakout player, but it's just too obvious.
I'll go with Robinson. He's more of a project than Hines, but he also gives us more of what we need.

IW will defiantly have a big year but I don't really see it as a breakout year. Last year he displayed all of his talents and opened up eyes. My breakout player is Amayo when healthy. Big strong and athletic. Just hoping his infection heals up and he's ready to go.

Before he went down last year, Daniel was showing signs that he was getting his defensive role in the paint, and on the other end he was creating space for others to get to the hoop and be there for clean-up. I did not see Ryden as being comfortable at staying at home on D.

I'm very hopeful that if Amayo is healthy that he will have a big impact. Because of his injury I'm going to say that Robinson still may be a year away. My judgement may be clouded because I was able to attend his best game last year (At Northern Iowa), but I think Hines is going to have a big year - which to me would more fit the definition of "breakout" year since we haven't seen Amayo yet. Or maybe it will be someone none of us hast thought about!

IW is already good, do I would say Hines will have a breakout season, even though he has an outside game, he wasn't afraid in Kansas to bang with their big boys

The real question for this upcoming season is ... who will be the breakout poster on this board?

Technically he has nothing to ''Break Out'' from except his stellar High School career, but Guard Cedric Casimir will be IMO a welcome addition to the solidifying of the Point Guard position in the mode of the small point guards that have domineered that position from time to time....He has enough offensive power to keep our opponents defense busy, and add to our high scoring reputation...... Cluess with staff help has a keen eye for talent, and he did not make Casimir an early selection without essaying his overall value to the teams worth and makeup.......

100% agree. Casimir will be in the rotation for sure, with a chance for more if someone else falters.

I think at points tc will take aj off the ball and put him at the 2 with casimir at the 1. From several reports he's a really good player but was overlooked by a bunch of big schools because of his size. Every report I read on him talks of high praise for casimir. Interesting to see but I think he will transitioned into the lineup midway to the later part of the season.

Nobody else offered him a scholarship? How good could he really be? Casimir ? .....well , the only division one offer Bryce Cotton received was from Providence...

Tiger, Casimir had other mid major offers. I just think leagues like the A-10 and above were just scared off by his size. Verbal commits lists him at 5'10" 150. We are all going to be very happy that the bigger programs were scared away because he is a player. I spoke to a coach from Trinity Catholic when Casimir was there and he thinks Iona got a steal.
