5'9 players don't help your defense, that is why he didn't get offers, you can shoot over them with no problem or post them up. see sledge

guy, alot of people also said sledge was going to help our defense since he is so quick, how did that work out? So you think a 5-9 player is going to help on defense? So you are saying good shooters can't shoot over him, and 6-3 guards can't post him up? by the way who was the 2nd best player in history? i hope its not a guy who was the only scorer on his team and never got a sniff at the next level, because you would be insulting some very good players.

kee kee clark, 5'11 and never was defensive player of the year, so it can't be him. The second best player in MAAC history definitely would have won a regular or post season title i would think

There is no doubt that there has been many small players that have become useful situational point guards and that recruiters will take that into consideration, but there is a reluctance to make them a major recruitment target unless they show subsequent talent that will take them to additional heights.....Casimir is possibly one of those...He has revealed many signs to fill that promise...
IMO Cluess and staff see this kind of player in Casimir...Based upon their past performance as judges of talent, I have high hopes for that type result...

Watch out for Young, in the videos I saw, he looked like the type of ferocious rebounder who finds minutes.

Couple things: 1. I misspoke re the DPOY for Clark. I felt like he won it one year, the year Flores won it. That said, if I remember correctly he was among the nation's leaders in steals. What little guys can lack in terms of getting in a shooter's face, they can make up by being ball hawks who are faster than typical guards. No, it's not every case. I just don't think it's right to assume Casimir can't do this without seeing him. 2. KeeKee finished as the 6th leading scorer in NCAA history, and he also averaged like 5 assists and 3 steals a game his senior year. Not every great player wins championships. I can point to countless examples in every sport. 3. Stop posting at me with fucking tone, or you'll be gone. Final warning. This is NOT the day to fuck with me out here.

i hope casmir is great, but everyone said the same thing about sledge, after he came from a bcs school Schadrac Casimir is a scorer who can shoot from the three. I think he is a much better pure shooter compared to Tavon Sledge. This kid dropped 36 points against Brewster Academy and he was going up against Devonte Graham (Kansas), Jordan Manse (Memphis preferred walk-on), Jarred Terrell (Rhode Island) and Kevin Zabo (San Diego State). With that being said I do not know why everyone is writing Sledge off as some sort of disappointment? I thick Sledge needs more confidence and he needs to shoot more from the outside to open up his game. He was hurt last year and was in the doghouse. Lets see what he brings to the table this season and what role he is asked to play.

Agree about Sledge. despite being in and out of the rotation because of injury and I guess the doghouse for some reason, he shot 50% from the floor and in a limited sample 4-9 from three. most impressive had a 32/8 A/TO ratio which is really good. expect a solid senior season from Sledge.

Casimir played with Tremont Waters (ranked 46th in his class) who's being recruited by UCONN, Oklahoma, Maryland, Indiana, Michigan, Syracuse, St. John’s, Villanova, Miami, West Virginia and Duke. Jordan Strawberry ( Darryl's kid and Mercer Commit), Romello Walker (Binghamton) and Dusan Perovic (Binghamton) so the offense was not run around him.

Sledge is also one of only two players on the team to play in an NCAA tourney game and he played very well. He's a senior and a new Father, we may be surprised by his improved play this year.
I am also excited to see Casimir, love true scorers.
We have 3 of the best players in the Maac returning, we don't need much from the rest of the team but I think there are a lot of potential pieces that will make this another very successful year for Cluess.
