Sharkey, I agree with your assessment of Quinny, though I still think that Manhattan is second best. Quinny probably has the third best roster. I know very little about SPU, except that they have a vg coach.

Agree on Dominique. plus Desi Washington, who runs hot and cold, but can carry them when hot. a decent center and supposedly added 2 Juco players who are really good shooters plus a good NYC hs recruit, but not sure if he qualified yet.
ic59, I had Manhattan 2nd but the loss of Usilo will hurt and not too sure of their PG play. going to be an interesting year in the MAAC

Guys, thanks. I do remember Dominque, but thought his effectiveness was hurt by SPU's slow down style. Perhaps with more talent (reportedly) they will play more up tempo, which should result in more scoring for Desi and Dominque.

Predictions are made by.....Prejudice fans, hopeful fans, knowledgeable Sport forecasters, guesswork and those who love sport pools etc... But the truest and most accurate are made by those that analyze all factors involved, and get paid to do so...the Las Vegas line makers...They are privy to information as to the most important inside info and trend of the wagering...There job is to establish line that will bring betting from both sides of the issue to a position of equality... The odds on predicting the outcome of game with the line should be about even...The odds of predicting outcomes without use of the line are generally in the 75-80% range... Friendly small time wagers can be fun but....Steady bigger time bets will only lead into the world where the VIG will surely send you broke...

Saw on the MAAC board that blue ribbon is out
1-Iona
2-Qpac
3-Manhattan
4-Siena
5-St. Peter's
I guess they must be Siena haters also. Not sure if they picked any all-maac teams, poy or roy

Might have to re-examine Siena' season's expectations...Their site has been very quite about it......... Their best player Poole has endured a leg injury of sorts...It is hard to find information as to how serious it is or how long he will be out....There are some comments with hints it will be quite a while... If so their outlook will have to be seriously reviewed as he is a keynote player and his loss for any length of time will seriously harm their fans lofty ambitions... I wish him well, as the MAAC needs with all their conceit and ''We should be higher'' attitude a competitive team up in Albany.....

OT, if the news about Poole is true, I think that Siena has enough depth to handle his down time. IMO, their PG, Wright is more important to their success. And keep in mind their OOC sked is VERY WEAK.

Poole is a very good player. You hate to see any players get hurt. I wish him the best. You want to beat the best teams.

59........Agree...Their OOC is shamefully week, and in my opinion purposely constructed by Pathos to satisfy the 'Win at all cost' of fervent fans... However, and I always seem to have a 'however', IMO Poole loss is akin to Siena almost to the extent of Iona losing English...He is their highest scorer at almost 15 points per game, and a 5+ rebounder...In the Siena games I observed appears to be a team leader, and they are not the same team when he takes a rest....He will be hard to replace... I have always respected your basketball knowledge, I doubt it, but I hope it has not been influenced by their hype....

Poole's injury is minor.
