Being a resident of Rockland County, my only comment is the situation in East Ramapo is unique to say the least!!! Also, coming from Yonkers, (the city of hills, where nothing is on the level) Rockland leaves me yearning for Yonkers were politically things weren't this bad!

Been reading the posts by middle aged boarders losing their sexual prowess... I was riding my wheelchair around Iona a couple of days ago...A knockout girl with a halter top walked by with a dog on a leash and said Hello... I am nearing 90 years old...I made a 90 degree turn with my wheelchair so my eyes could follow her down the sidewalk.... My aid seemed shocked and then admonished me.....Thinking quickly I said ''I was thinking of getting a dog just like that''.... Perfect!!!!

Being a resident of Rockland County, my only comment is the situation in East Ramapo is unique to say the least!!! Also, coming from Yonkers, (the city of hills, where nothing is on the level) Rockland leaves me yearning for Yonkers were politically things weren't this bad! A buddy of mine was a state trooper who worked on the organized crime task force. He was involved in many high profile cases including putting Gotti away. He has always said that Rockland was the most corrupt county in the State and that the politicos in Rockland could teach tricks to the mob in Kings and Queens counties. This is not something new.... Piermont was nothing but a fishing village during the day back before the bridge was built..... but at night it was the gambling center of lower New York. They had old barns and some of the old buildings along the river converted into casinos. Only three roads in made it pretty easy for the PD to control who came and went. When the State police were investigating a carting guy who was the biggest producers for one of the major crime families in NYC (Early 90's) they were actually hampered by the activities of the Rockland DA's office and some local police. It was so bad the State Police actually made statements regarding this problem to the Journal News. I have never seen a Police agency openly state a DA was hampering an investigation publicly. I was at Ramapo High School today and could not believe how run down the school was. I played ball there in high school and the fields were great. The football stands are actually condemned and the school looks like a slum. One of the locals said that our New Square friends are building a Yeshiva across the street with "dorms".... he said they were letting the school fall apart because their long term plans are to close the school claiming it is unsafe and then sell the property to the Yeshiva for more "dorms".... crazy.
