Could not get down to Hynes until about 1:30 PM....Practice just winding down but did get a chance to talk some players exiting the court... General opinion is that they expect and are ready for fine season...... Amayo ready to go...Consensus...Smaller guards will have big trouble with his strength. Robinson also ready, but at a slower pace. Raves over Casimir...Seems they think he a terrific shooter, and some are sure he will make immediate impact. Hines can't wait...Highly confidant...Delighted his family and fans will be able to see him play on TV in Alaska...They get ESPN stations and are looking forward to the Gails games both on TV and internet.... Asked about Mohammed...They all say that he is a very intelligent basketball wise player who can play. The competition for that open front court spot will be fierce... Laury slimmed down...Very nice guy... Did not see English or Williams but am pretty sure they practiced... IC59...If your wife lets you bring your computer with you and you see this, give me a post........

]Good report. Anything on Dublin?[/quote] Guy... Nothing more then he will be in battle for that open front court spot...I got the impression that he is as of now the favorite...I agree, but have been impressed by the maturity, play, and confidence of Hines who is a mystery prospect...His outside shot has been outstanding...I teased him a little saying we have enough of them and what we need is rebounding...He good natured had a good laugh.....

Good to hear OT, thanks for the report. I am a big fan of Hines game and would like to see him win the 5th starting spot. He would add needed size on the court and allow us to have 4 perimeter shooters on the court

Slow morning...Good time for a post script to this subject...
I would be remiss if I did not post a word or two as to the impressive conduct of this team.....In all my pre-season chit chats they have never failed to stop by my wheel chair and spend sometime...I of course have been long exposed to so called 'Street Talk'. but what I have discovered from this team, has been nothing but cordial intelligent and polite mannerism...
Much Kudo's should be sent to Coach Cluess and his staff...This is his 5th year and as far as I remember his report card is ''Unblemished'' We at times get frustrated by the tight ship he sails, but we should also be proud of the fine message sent forth and by the conduct it produces.....
As a added post script.........In my meetings with the players I have brought up the subject of possibly being player 'short shifted' this season...Contrary to it being a problem they shrugged it off, stated it would not make much difference, but would only increase the amount of playing time availability...Without major team injuries it might actually work that way......
Next up.....Lunch and a short nap......

OT, thanks. My computer is not a laptop, so I had "nothing" in Vermont. I do hope to make it to practice, next Monday, around noon. My guess is that Dublin makes more sense as a starter, being a vet, while Hines, imo, has more potential, but would expect TC to bring him along more slowly. Did you see Bebis, and if you did, what were your impressions?

A few players had already left, but as posted I did have conversations with a few of them...The coaches had already left so I had no way of knowing weather or not is was an open practice...I will try to meet you there Monday... I fully agree about Dublin being a experienced vet, but Hines showed some very good flashes somewhere near the three quarter mark last season and seems ready to start entering and become a full blown team member... Hope you enjoyed Vermont...Will have some question about it when I see you.....
