Cjb, thanks to my poor hearing, I missed TC's line. Very good.

Amongst all the gratitude expressed by the coaches for supporting athletics was (IMO) the funniest line of the night when TC quipped, "thanks to some of you for all the coaching advice you provide us".
Touche' coach.
LOL. That's excellent. This is why y'all shouldn't be taking yourselves so seriously out here. We have opinions. Sometimes they may align with what the staff sees. Often they are just so far off it's amazing, and comedy fodder for the staff when they read our nonsense. So, to the staff, glad we are here to entertain.

59 did you catch the part where you're being billed for the event?

Highlight, imo, was the new scoreboards, and the presence of the Men's and Women's teams, who were great to talk with.Great kids. Not a lot to report, but did get an answer to some things: *Scrimmages-no particular reason for them, but they do have to be within driving distance. And Albany scrimmaged at our place, last year and we are returning the 'game'. St. Francis scrimmaged in New Ro two years ago, and we were supposed to have a real game in Brooklyn, last year, but it fell through. This is another repay. Ctbill, I hope this answers your question. *Never did get to speak with TC about his son. When I asked other coaches, I was told that was a question for TC. Someone mentioned that he might be going to Prep School, next year, and I got the feeling that he was a borderline DI prospect. *One of the players that I spoke with, Taylor Bessick, told me that he thought that he was in pretty good shape, but that now he has to get in. "Iona shape". So much more running than what he was used to. I spoke to Bessick, because I wanted info about a former FB player at James Madison, Earl Watford. TC said that he'd replace DL, next year. I thought he looked pretty good at MTG, but was told that the only question about him was his desire to play away from the basket, and we want him down low. Looks like he'll play somewhere, next year. *Expect Ricky McGill to be the only early signing, and we hope that we might land a December transfer, a Big. That would leave us with one scholarship for the Spring. When asked, what position, I was told a starter. Position not that important. We'll see. We're, reportedly still in the hunt for Bashir Ahmed, but I'm assuming that's for '16. *Big three are set as starters, with Cedric, and Kelvin competing for the backcourt, and Jelani and Ryden for the PF spot. As we knew they would be the top seven players, and that seems correct. However, TC did give a rundown for the entire roster, so I'm guessing it's fair to say that we'll have a longer bench, at least at the season's start. And history says that the bench will shrink as we go through the season. Come March, will it be seven or eight, or more? *Schedule tidbit. We are hopeful of a two for one deal with Bradley from the MVC, and naturally we'll get the one. A nice add to our schedule. That's what I remember, but there were four or five other posters there, so maybe they heard other things. Great report. Sorry I missed this event. Got an injured daughter that I'm caring for. Just a sprained ankle, but enough to keep her in a boot for a bit. I know scheduling is difficult, and really it may be a good "chat session" topic to have with AD Cole during the next offseason. I know a lot of you guys love to focus on recruiting during the offseason, but I think it's so hard to keep up with all that stuff, and as I've said, what is reported out here is literally only like a third of our total recruiting, so I choose not to obsess over it too much. But the scheduling, I've always found fascinating. Would love to get more info on the day-to-day battles Cole faces in trying to assemble it. I bring all this up because I am not thrilled about a 2-for-1 against a mid-major, albeit a much bigger one. If the best we can do is a 2-for-1 against a mid, then we all better start writing those checks faster to get that Hynes upgrade/expansion, because that's terrible.

Following up on this: since we've had access to the staff and have gotten what we can/need from them, is there interest in arranging a chat with Cole? I won't go to the trouble unless you guys are interested. Let me know.

Thanks for the update guys. Interesting about a possible December transfer "big" who would be good enough to be a starter. Funny because I saw a tweet yesterday from ESPN'S Goodman that the new transfer list was already starting to grow for next year. Any idea of some names who have said they were going to transfer? I remember a couple of tweets the last few days about guards transferring.

Guy, about the two for one. It might be better than it sounds. And while not knowing the details, I've heard that the two games in Peoria would be money games, and that would help. Especially if we could add another mid-west team to the trip.

Wait--it's a 2-for-1 but a guarantee as well? I've never heard of that before.

I forgot to add that we will not be retiring any numbers this season, maybe next season.
