My thoughts on some previous posts (and my own thoughts):
Starting Lineup I think will be Casimir, Hines, IW, DL, AJ. Amayo first off bench and Dublin next. Whomever is playing best among Amayo, Dublin and Hines will get the most minutes at the 4.
Spread Iona by 5, This is a tough game but at home Iona needs to win this game.
No way game is sold out, these early season games never draw as well as February.
I think Point Guard will be shared by Casimir, AJ and Laury, as well as IBN, AJ probably handles it the most.
I expect a great debut by Casimir, and also a big game from IW, teams will start the year focusing on AJ and Laury and a little on IW. Slowly they will see they have to focus as much on IW as the big 2 and will have to also find a way to stop Casimir.
I also think someone we don't expect outside of the Big 3 and Casimir has a nice game.

Agreed Joebird. I wouldn't be shocked to see Ibn in the starting 5, or to make a big dent on minutes in this game. We are going up against a small lineup so I think we'll be more comfortable sacrificing size for speed if it comes down to it.

IC..........Good summation...But, and there is always a ''But'' with me..... Amayo's injury caused the problems, the being out of shape did not cause the injury...IMO he will not start, and will be used at first judicially....... IMO with Cleveland State's sure use of its small P.G.,it is the perfect spot to start Casimir...With the use of Casimir there is a need for more height, and again IMO the use of Hines...When Amayo shows he is ready because of his strength will be used occasionally at the small forward, and depending on the progress of Casimir possibly at the point... Our starting line is as of now not set in stone...It will be experimental in nature. but I think Cluess by the very nature of carrying two point guards that cannot be used at any other position exposes his desire... If everything goes as planned I hope to see you at the game...

It would just tire him out.

Chelsea, I agree with you about DL. Having two PG's in Casimir and Muhammed, I see no reason to play DL at the point. Of course that could change if CSU is behind and pressing, and TC decides to use DL to help break the press. I just hope that doesn't become necessary.

When I say Laury will play the point I mean mostly helping bring the ball up if needed. I think you will see him help out with that all year long just like he did in many games last year.

My HOPE in beating the press is a heavy dose of Casimir/Muhammed speed dribbling through the press and attacking the basket. In effect making teams pay for pressing. I realize this would be a change from the past, when we used DL and were content to merely get the ball past mid-court.

The earliest morning line I can find......Iona is a '1' point favorite...Over and under 147.....That is to me is a surprise especially at home...If I was a betting man and the line is going Cleveland's way, I would carefully look over Iona' manpower in pre game warm up before making a decision.......

Saw in the mid-major pole that Cleveland State is ranked # 11 to our #17.

On the Cleveland State board There are reports that their starting PG Charlie Lee is suspended the first 6 games of the season, obviously also including the Iona game.

Interesting. I guess them playing an exhibition game just a couple days ago without him, was good timing for CSU.
