Saw news feed that Conner Frankamp leaving Kansas basketball program and transferring after Fall semester www.espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/11797141/kansas-jayhawks-sophomore-guard-conner-frankamp-transfer . He was one of the top outside shooters coming out of high school, but was frustrated by limited playing time his freshman year. He wants to be more involved than he currently is at Kansas. Common refrain for most transfers. Frankamp will be a good pickup for a program in need of outside shooting. He might like the way the outside shot is valued at Iona. He is a native of Wichita, Kansas will be interesting if he transfers to Wichita State. Maybe once he has his formal release Coach Grasso can give him a call and point out the advantages of Iona, especially if he is looking to get away from the midwest.

I remember a post in a different thread that mentioned the possibility of a mid year transfer, but pretty sure they were talking about a frontcourt player. Would be interesting to see a list of how many programs have an open scholarship to offer a kid who transfers after the first semester. Question-if a player would transfer to Iona for the 2nd semester, would he be eligible after the 1st semester next season?

As far as I am aware he would eligible after 1st semester is completed. David Laury became eligible after 1st semester 2 years ago.

Thanks Husker, forgot about DL. would be great if the staff could land a "big" after the 1st semester

Sharkey we can wish as the staff has not disappointed in the past. Always look forward to pleasant surprises, especially with the success in luring transfers in the recent past.

Transfer season looks to be getting back into full swing. 6'6'' SF Sammis Reyes has asked for his release from Hawaii. just started freshman season. He was offered by Fairfield and Fordham, among higher level programs, and visited both. Looks like a TC type player. Maybe he has interest playing in NY.

Maybe Tau can do some unofficial recruiting of Reyes since he's in Hawaii.

Hawaii has also had some issues with allegedly falsified data. I'd be a little careful until everything is out in the open. We don't need problems.

I thought he got an agent and was looking to play in the d-league?

Believe that was his intent at one time but don't think he ever signed with an agent.

FWIW, The D-League just held their 8 round draft and I did not notice his name.

Anyone with a source? High-profile transfer forward who would be eligible this season. This is one of the few kids who fits the description.
