Still would like to see us establish some other players. Need to find opportunities to get some of these guys some run.
Now you guys know why I gave you a hard time for anointing Casimir, with the KeeKee and 2K points stuff. Jesus. He had played one game and wasn't scouted for at all. Kid needs a home game to relax and get it going again.
Mohammad an unsung hero. He will not score or even get a ton of assists, but he doesn't turn it over and is a pain in the ass on defense.
Guy, while I don't totally disagree, I think he's trying to sort out roles with the "Big 3" and the others. Working in Ibn and Hinds and gave Ellis and Dublin a few looks at times. I believe once he gets the roles of those 4 clarified, I think we'll see the others. --Just a guess on my part. Ibn has been a big plus and may play a larger role than anticipated/planned.
Your guess is as good as any!

Wasn't going to bring this up but you are calling me out, he Still will score 2000, just needs 10 a game this year, 15 next and 20 his final two. Right now they aren't letting him touch the ball enough. And by the way you over rated Dublin's contributions while I thought he would be the Gaels 8th best player.
I never overrated Dublin. I just thought he'd have more of an impact. And given what we've seen from players outside the big 3, I still think he's being underrated by his own coach.
And we both know you just want your damn steak dinner! ;-)

If aj scores 37 every night I'll take the goose egg and go hungry!
Well after a shitty start to the day, it ends with a 20 point Gaels win and pics of Tianna. Life is good again!! looking forward to Wednesday night's game
Besides his career high in points scored, I think I'm probably stating the obvious when I say, last night was AJ's best all around game at Iona, when you throw in eight rebounds, four assists and three steals. And if that was a Batman like performance, IW did a pretty good Robin impersonation with 21; 3; 3; and 5.
Taking the bad with the good. DL III has seen his scoring average go from 13, to 14 to 15.8. At the same time, his rebounding average has dropped from 10.3, to 8.3 to 5.3, roughly HALF of his first year totals. Does the fact that we haven't developed a legitimate backup, make him less aggressive, in order to stay out of foul trouble? Or is he just concentrating too much on his perimeter game in order to impress any potential scouts who may be watching? Whatever reason, we have to hope his rebounding totals go up. And I still can't understand why Dublin isn't playing, unless you want to count a four minute cameo, over the past two games.

I think the DL3 rebounding trend is a result of the following:
1) The last two years (this year and last) there was no big to back him up or play with him. Taaj was very effective on the Boards his senior year.
2) DL3 is picking up 2 fouls in the first half often and 3 to 4 in the second half as well. I believe TC has no choice but to have him play more cautiously when he is in foul trouble.
3) As has been stated before, Hines is more of a small forward and Robinson isn't there yet.
The guards help out, but we need a second presence.

Agree. As tall as he is I see Hines as a 3. No point forcing a square peg into a round hole. A good backup to IW. We need Robinson and Dublin to step up. Love Casimir btw. And Ibn has been great so far.

I missed the Wake game live over the weekend - Charlie Daniels band. Pretty good for a 78 year old musician. He is right there with our OT.
I managed to check in on the thread here, and thought Iona had lost from the tenor of the posts. So I watched the replay Saturday at 2 AM. Great win over an ACC program. There were some phantom calls, but we overcame them. Ryden was effective in guarding the post, but he does not like to crash the boards. The game has yet to slow down for Grant.
Another super win against North Texas, despite our foul shooting. FT's is my biggest concern going forward. Have to make the front end of 1 and 1's to win in college BB. The "and 1" does not even show in the stats.
The one impression I came away with from both games is how comfortable this team looks on the road. I think all that travel by DL, IW and AJ is really paying off.
Now getting ready for the trip across the Ozark Mountains to Fayettville. All members of the St. Louis chapter is making the trip - both of us.
Could be tough if we can't get our FT's above 70%.
SLG, I think you're confusing Wake and NT, reference to foul shooting. Against Wake we were 50% and yesterday we were 72%, and 90.9% in the second half.

That stat is a little deceptive as they kept fouling AJ down the stretch. Had they been fouling Amayo or DL we would have been in the dumper again.

Nah! FT% was 57% in first half. We may be OK with one problem FT shooter on the floor in crunch time; but, at this point, we have several who are struggling.
