Anyone have updates on this? So far believe Drexel is the only confirmed opponent. Have heard other names thrown around (e.g. Fordham, Stony Brook, etc.) but don't believe any are confirmed.

Not an update but an interesting story about mid-major OOC scheduling: Why Don’t Majors Play At Mid-Majors More Often? They Might Lose. "Even worse, a team that has gotten a reputation as being “dangerous” (i.e., goes to the NCAA Tournament repeatedly) is pretty much guaranteed to never get a home game against a power team, no matter how lenient its administration is. Heck, Iona can barely get anyone to play it on the ROAD this season, let alone bringing a Big East team to Hynes Gym.
Which is too bad, because think of how fun a game like Providence (or, gasp, St. John’s) at Iona would be." www.nycbuckets.com/2014/12/dont-majors-play-mid-majors-often-might-lose/

With metro area hoops back on the upswing we could probably schedule 90% of our OOC games against locals without having to step on an airplane (buy games included), and without it hurting our RPI at all:
1. SHU or SJU 2. Stony Brook 3. Hofstra 4. UConn or Syracuse 5. SFNY 6. Columbia 7. Army 8. Wagner 9. Rutgers

Rutgers why not both SHU and SJU, were you drinking when you put rutgers behind some of these teams, they might not be playing good but they are better than teams on this list and their rpi is and will be way higher

Just think they would all be good OOC candidates for us.

Hearing about potential 8-team holiday tournament with all competitive tri-state area teams at Prudential Center next year. If this turns out to be true would surely hope that we are all over this and pursuing.

He would have five NYC programs, excluding sju and Columbia. Iona, Hofstra and she would be include.

At one point there was talk about an OOC road game at Bradley next year. Believe that is off the table now. Our only confirmed OOC opponent as far as I know is Drexel (home). Anyone have updates on others?

Cluess doesn't like these events or even the 3-game tournaments. Iona would rather play guarantee games and get paid.

Why not schedule games with the likes of:
Butler Belmont Valaparasio Murray State Gonzaga St. Mary's Santa Clara
We might get our butt kicked by a number of these teams but I believe playing them will help make us tournament ready.

Especially if it's decent competition Sent from my SCH-I545 using proboards

Mentioned this annual event in another thread: gcs.bdglobalsports.com/Women & Men's teams could travel together--low cost travel--great mid-major competition (UConn women also)--very convenient, (Jet Blue non stop-White Plains-Ft Myers) Hope they take a look at it. 2014 Men's teams Green Bay vs. East Carolina Fresno State vs. Evansville FGCU vs. Marist San Francisco vs. Hawaii 2013 Southern Illinois-St Bonaventure Illinois/Chicago-LA Tech Stetson-FGCU San Diego St-Wagner
