Great effort. Really proud of the Gaels tonight. Could have easily packed it in after the brutal start and showed great poise and heart to win the game. No way I would have thought Iona wins the game with AJ shooting 4-17, but he contributes 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Saw the article today with AJ and DL saying they have to trust their teammates and get them involved, and that's exactly what they did. Shocked when I saw Bebis was starting, but wow did he make a major impact. Don't know if we can expect this type of game all the time, but Bebis plays with lots of confidence.

tau, I was sitting here laughing when the guy was talking about the Gaels' 21-5 run and the other guy said, "I'm really pissed off".
I have to say that starting out 1-13 from the field had me a little scared. We didn't take a lead until 18:59 in the first half and then went up by 8 at the half. It was an amazing last couple of minutes of the first half. I think the closest Rider got after that was within 2. Good to see Bebis get some serious playing time and see Sed step up. DL continues to be a beast. Nice to see this team step up and win a tough game on the road after a horrendous start. A true team win. TC and crew have gotten these guys to believe that they can win despite the loss of IW. This "W" should be a tremendous boost to their confidence. Continue to get better IW, we do miss you!
Go Gaels!!!

Got my new internet supplier in time to catch one of the best Iona effort maybe of the year...Never a bit of panic after a horrible start...Met every challenge with confidence that they even with injury were still the MAAC's best team... Bebis showed me enough in previous play and even his enthusiastic manner from the bench that he was a winner...The best is yet to come... Casimir is riding the roller coaster ride on the freshman flyer, but as confidence and experience grows a 'Star is being born'... Looking forward to the next 4 games...

Hey OT, How is the adjustment going? Big change for you and the Mrs.--but you have already been through so much. I wish you well! Will you be at any games? Siena-Marist? I 'll be up from Sarasota and hope to see you! Be well!

What says it all is just 1 turnover in the 2nd half. Great job Gaels.
Son-in-law is driving me down from Saratoga County to the Siena game. What a great Christmas present.
Hope to meet up with some old friends then.

I think the key to the game, was CC getting 14 FG attempts. And I think, especially with IW out, that he should get about that number. His prior five games, before Rider, he had the following number of FGA:8/11/8/4/9. Not enough.

Helluva win last night, so far the Gaels are 2-1, without IW, better then last year so far. Big difference to me is the league just isn't very good this year, so Iona should be able to withstand this personnel loss. They have to just keep taking it one game at a time!

Gutsy call by Cluess starting Bebis. Even better response by Bebis to the pressure of having your first start be a road game for first place. Casimir responded great by increasing his offensive output substantially.

Great to see the energy and output from the two freshmen. Coach Cluess challenges his players when he feels they are ready and most respond positively. Like the way AJ facilitated his team mates and rebounded. A lot of good signs last night. If Isaiah is able to return to full health we are in a good place for the MAAC Tournament. Last night was a step forward for this team in terms of believing in one another and the staff. Additionally David Laury is showing that he should be the Player of the Year.

Great indicator of what to come. Amayo didn't have his best game yesterday, but he definitely provides energy and edge to our team. I'm glad that bebis got a shot yesterday, I feel he has a ton of upside and just needs more of an opportunity (evident by his play yesterday). Great confidence booster and win yesterday, we have momentum going forward and need to continue to improve. By the way, AJ flirted again last night with a triple-double, he's a special player with so many intangibles.

Yeah he stinks- Don't get what you have against this kid, true he is not perfect, but he is probably the second best player in the Maac ( behind LAURY) and we are lucky to have him. If there was a stat that added up points, assists and rebounds I bet he would be in the top 1-5 in the country in the 3 stats combined. I have also seen improvement in his defense the last few games. Every shooter has a few bad nights. You are far too critical.
