I'd guess 65-35 St John's in terms of fans. I'll be, no wait, I am in a suite. Attachments:

"It's the big east, ct., Syracuse or nothing, and all this despite iona clearly being the best ny metro program the past 5 years."
YUP, pathetic coverage of Iona and Manhattan but the hounds in the so called media were quick to pounce on Masiello after the NCAA's.

Just what I wanted to see, the two best players in NY lead the best team in NY to a blowout win. Nice!

At the start of the second half, my wife and I were the only two people sitting in the 200 level, across from the Niagara bench, and about 100 feet to the left of Gary and Ed, who did the radio broadcast. In fact Rich Ensor stopped by to talk after doing his interview with Ed Ingels. I guess he spotted my Iona hat. The ushers tried to get us to move down, but I was too superstitious to do that. But the seats did offer me a different viewpoint to watch the game. And these are a few of my observations:
*To those who say we don't play defense, that's not entirely true, though I noticed that DL and AJ do take plays off. However, our problem seems to be that we (some guys) try to do too much. And by that I mean, they leave their own man, or zone area, in an attempt to double on another player/area. And that invariably would lead to a pass to another player and an open three. Thus Niagara shot 34.3%, but 45.8% from three. We just have to get mentally tougher and just cover our own man/area. I guess that's easier said than done. *No excuse play. Ibn brings the ball up court, and crosses the mid-court line. He then looks at DL, who is still in the backcourt and passes to him. And while the pass was into the front court, DL came down with it, having left his feet in the backcourt. A no excuse TO. *AJ shot 4-6 from deep, and only one from behind the NBA line, showing the scouts his range. Happy, as far as I could see, that his other attempts were 'college' shots. *Seemed to me that we contested all of Niagara's inside shots. Were our eight blocks a season high? Thus points in the paint were 50-22, Iona. I was happy that our shot blocking didn't result in a lot of whistles. Having Ed Corbett, as the lead ref, helped. *Don't know if it was old age, but up top, when the Duke and SJU fans left, it got cold. *As the MAAC season winds down, I still don't know which team/teams that I don't want to see in the semi's and finals.

MAAC is crazy this year, tough to predict anything, every team has been up and down! Tournament could be a cake walk, or brutal game after brutal game.

ghost, if we finish first, like last year, I would think that our quarterfinal game should be pretty easy, since you're playing about the eighth seed. It's the semi's and finals that I'm worried about. I still feel that we lost to Manhattan last year, because we had a brutal semi against Canisius, while Manhattan had a cake walk win over Quinnipiac.

ic59, the first game probably will be easy, but you could get siena on their home floor or quinny that could wear us out to start the tournament
