SPU might be the Jekyl and Hyde team of the MAAC. You don't know what to expect, other than a low scoring game on their part. Will this be our lowest scoring game of the season?
I watched the SPU-Rider game, and it was ugly. SPU couldn't hit 'anything'. However, I KNOW they will shoot much better against us, like everyone else. But what impressed me about SPU was their defense (naturally). Rider almost always couldn't get a shot off until the shot clock was under 10. And neither team could hit from deep on a consistent basis, and I was expecting much more from Washington and Dominque (Sp?). Unfortunately, their good Jekyl-Hyde persona will emerge tomorrow night. Their PG, Wyche, was injured and that hurt SPU, and I don't know the extent of his injury. Something to keep an eye on. A line larger than expected could mean that he'll be sitting on Saturday.
Also, for tv purposes, just about all the fans were seated on one side of the gym, making it look like a full house. Only when a fast break showed the 'bad' side of the gym, did I realize what was going on. Also, must say that I was impressed by TV color guy, Rob Kennedy, who called out one of the refs, Clarence Armstrong, for making a terrible call, which pretty much sealed the deal for Rider. Usually, announcers bend over backwards, defending the refs. Thanks, Rob.
Tomorrow's reception, will give us an opportunity, possibly, to ask about Daniel Robinson.

Saw some of it too. Its nice they have a short turn around while we practice. Patios anyone?

I have a deck now, but my house in California had a Patio.
St. Peter's is always a tricky game. The obvious concern is that team's always shoot better than average against Iona, and they have a couple of new Juco players that while they have been inconsistent, have shown they are capable of having a big game so lets hope tomorrow night is not one of them. Dominique has been up and down this year, but is an ALL-MAAC level player, while their center Welton has played well recently. The key is Desi Washington. He is wildly inconsistent, but when the "good" Washington shows up, St. Peter's is a tough team. Yeah I know I make them sound like they should be near the top of the MAAC standings, but in my opinion they have been the most disappointing team in the MAAC this year. Hope the Gaels get off to a fast start and not the usual slow start they have had recently
