A great article on Tim Cluess speaking about the state of college bb in today's NY Times sports section. It is the lead story with a nice color shot of IW leading a fast break. Someone, who is more computer savvy than myself, hopefully can provide a link. Article describes drills that Iona runs in practices.

This is the article they posted online 2 nights ago. Great to see that they decided to put it in the print version, on the front page as the lead article.

Very good coverage in today's Daily News and Post, with a good local wrap up article in the Post naming Iona and Ced as team and frosh of the year. They tabbed Pointer as POY with AJ and DL as runners up.

Interesting and excellent coverage for Iona. Knew it would be forthcoming. Front page of the times sports. Not bad. News and Post articles.
Post article even named Iona as no. 1 team in tristate. Interesting. Couldn't tell if they were talking about next year or not. It's all good because I am a fan of both Iona and SJU, and never troll on this board. But now we cannot say we get ignored.
Next year one would have to objectively say Iona will be better than SJU. I try to be as objective as I possibly can. Lets look at the facts for this year.
RPI SJ 36 IONA 47 SOS SJ 28 Iona 184 Record VS.1-25 SJ 3-6 Iona 0-1 Record vs.26-50 SJ 2-0 Iona 0-0 Record vs. 51-100 SJ 4-1 Iona 0-2
Yet the article still says Iona is number one in the area. Hardly seems fair to St. John's. So I don't know about the media coverage around here. What the hell it's only what these people do for a living. Have to admit, a lot of the time the media doesn't seem to have the first clue about Iona and frankly it annoys me a little too, so it is good to see them getting good media coverage. Three years ago Iona had the top team in the area, better than St. John's. And next year they will be better than St. John's. Go Gaels in March.
P.S. I like to be right about these things. And fairness is important too. And like I say I'm also an Iona fan.

Better to just ignore the comments. Why discuss a team from Queens in a thread about Tim Cluess. We have much bigger fish to fry than Rekson's team.

so if you aren't a red whatever you are called this year troll RECKSON, why would you take an article saying iona is the best team in the area, but then say it must be for next year? this is your best year in the last 10 years and you will suck the next 3 years since the whole team is graduating, so at least this is the one year you can even challenge iona but your chicken shit school decided to play west coast teams and garbage teams instead of playing us. can't wait to watch you lose next year to your rival fordham, you will then take them off your schedule and then renew your rivalry with ccny and you will grace us with a story on why that is a great idea.

Don't think Reksonn is trolling at all with his post. Just stating his opinion he thinks SJ's is a better team this year than Iona. Big whoop. Are we so sensitive on this board we can't let a St John's fan respectfully state he thinks the Johnnies are better than we are? We can argue the point, disagree, whatever. Oy.
