He put St. John's back on the map as a tourney team. St. John's is projected to be a 7 seed in and he recruits a top class consistently. Why would he get canned, he's in the tourney. Plain and simple. You make it to the tourney out of the big east conference you are not getting canned. Shouldn't even be a thread. They're playing in March

Short of him winning a couple of games he is not getting an immediate extension as some alumni are questioning his ability. He is known as a recruiter more than an X's and O's guy and what recruit will commit for next recruiting cycle without knowing if he is going to be there? Lots of question marks... could go either way.

They made the tourney and they have top 100 guys coming in next year; along with two potential pros (if they stay) in jordan and obekpa. Yeah, lavins staying.

Brandon Sampson is the only top 100 player coming in next year. He says goodbye to Pointer, Harrison and will most likely lose Obekpa (who almost left last year and is projected to be a 2nd round pick) and maybe Jordon. That means they will lose three Top 100 recruits and possibly a 4th this year. Last year he brought in De La Rosa, Balamou and Thomas. Thomas was caught up in the WCC scandal and the other players are not studs. Go read the SJU forum and you will see that there are people that feel he is not getting them past the hump. I hope he stays but I think there is better than a 30% chance he gets canned if he does not win their first NCAA game. If SJU gets upset, many of their alumni will be a bit more than "upset".

And if that happens, could Danny end up at his alma mater?
