I think 1970's connections at the CIA are sabotaging Lavin to bolster 70's schadenfreude. LOL. 1970 doesn't have any connections at the CIA. Rapidly losing interest in college hoops. Probably better off for it. I'm too busy for this s$%@. This team just kills kills you. One thing after another. What a moron! Stop recruiting morons Lav. The game hasn't started yet 70, so don't falsely post again that I am commenting during the game about non-Iona topics. I'm just responding to posts already made here as always.
As far as the policy goes, it is ridiculous. Why should ballers be subjected to something that the general student body is not? Because they make millions for the school and bring notoriety? It is legal in some states to smoke weed and in New York State it is only a violation. Like Jaywalking. A ticket. This is not a performance enhancing drug so I don' t see why it is any of SJU's or the NCAA's business. It should be between the cop writing the ticket and the person geting the ticket. Now Chris is stupid, to be sure, because he knew about the policy, but the policy will eventually be dropped. How would we feel if our children were given mandatory drug tests at their school? It is wrong! And if it is wrong for the general student body then it is wrong for athletes!!

If they drug tested students on academic scholarships, i would guess that more than 50% would fail. With that said it is the rules and these dopes know better.

Absolutely. We're in agreement on both points.

I never the use the pro boards Johnny Jungle site. I usually go to rumble or redmen.com (the dot com before the storm. Clever Aye) There was never any news about suspensions on the reliable SJU websites. Third hand sources telling me Massiello.

Earlier today Zagsblog posted www.zagsblog.com/articles/sources-steve-lavins-future-at-st-johns-in-doubt/#more-131668 . Source quoted as "where there's smoke, there's usually fire". Maybe he meant "Where there's smoke, there's usually a bong party" which ties into suspensions. I personally think that "where there's smoke, there's burnt toast" as in Steve Lavin is gone. If so the St. John's vacancy will be interesting in who it attracts. Who from the Pitino tree and Coach K tree are looking to be upwardly mobile? Not sure Masiello will be considered as I have to believe Manhattan structured his contract, after the degree fiasco, to be difficult to get out the first few years.

Mentioned a few weeks ago--look out for Richard Pitino. Lots of pressure being exerted.
