I'm somewhat surprised that Fordham did the right thing; they usually double down on bad bets and thereby make things worse.
Now I wonder whether they will have the balls to change their conference affiliation. They have no business being in the A10 and will never make the investments in the program, or changes in AD etc, that are necessary for them to have any sustained success in that conf.

Sengfelder is their best player. Paschall has the highest potential but needs real coaching, which was never going to happen if Pecora stayed. I wonder if either of the two players was planning on leaving if Pecora was retained. That might have forced Fordham's hand. I'd gladly take either one of them for Iona. Fordham can keep the rest of their roster.

The job is a death sentence. Who was the last person to coach there and leave for a better job? Penders?

Wouldn't shock me if this is a precursor to a change in conference affiliation for Fordham. They'd have to be transparent about that with any coaching candidates they interview; but I wouldn't be shocked if they announce a move to the PL or CAA this off-season. The Post even recently said they are in the wrong conference. The A-10 is getting nothing from them publicity-wise in NYC; they can't be happy about this. Looks like another rebuild, especially if a couple of the good players they do have leave. Again, can't see them allowing any players they have to transfer here, unless they were moving conference affiliaton.
Saw Cluess's name mentioned by some talking heads as a replacement. I guess if Tim wants the money its a possibility. Seems like a dead-end job for me that comes with a hyper-critical fanbase. Interesting few weeks ahead.

No, Guy and ctbill, they are going to be good next year. For the first time in a long, long time. I know it is hard to believe but they really do have great parts. Now if they can hire a really good coach, look out. The other A-10 coaches have been raving about their talent all year, so they ought to be able to find a good replacement. The Freshman are really good and have loads of potential. They have Canty coming back next year. There's Mandell Thomas and Ryan Rhoomes and a good coach may be able to get Jon Severe to play unselfishly. There's Antoine Anderson and Manny Suarez, and DBA. They have a lot of talent. Paschall just turned 18, and all he needs to do is just shed some baby fat and improve his strength and conditioning. Sengfelder has a great attitude and is a hard worker and should continue to improve. They were so much better down the stretch and if EP didn't get hurt they would have won even more towards the end. Heck, I may even be a Fordham fan next year. HA!
