No, Guy and ctbill, they are going to be good next year. For the first time in a long, long time. I know it is hard to believe but they really do have great parts. Now if they can hire a really good coach, look out. The other A-10 coaches have been raving about their talent all year, so they ought to be able to find a good replacement. The Freshman are really good and have loads of potential. They have Canty coming back next year. There's Mandell Thomas and Ryan Rhoomes and a good coach may be able to get Jon Severe to play unselfishly. There's Antoine Anderson and Manny Suarez, and DBA. They have a lot of talent. Paschall just turned 18, and all he needs to do is just shed some baby fat and improve his strength and conditioning. Sengfelder has a great attitude and is a hard worker and should continue to improve. They were so much better down the stretch and if EP didn't get hurt they would have won even more towards the end. Heck, I may even be a Fordham fan next year. HA! I've seen that team a fair amount. Pascall is a real talent; out of shape most of the season. Sengfelder is a smart, fundamentally sound guy who shoots it pretty well; works really hard. He can't defend any athletic big in the A-10. He's also like a 20 year old frosh. The other A-10 frosh will catch up to him. Severe is a complete head case. At best he's a good three point shooter and has a nice mid-range jumper. Haven't ever really seen him get to the rim and finish well. He shoots FTs well. He is a defensive liability and a walking turnover. Canty is an athletic big guy who can rebound coming of a year sitting out due to BACK SURGERY. Expecting him to be improved is silly. Who knows, maybe he will be? Thomas assumed the lead guard role this year. He shot much better from 3 than he did before. Let's see if he can keep it up. Rhoomes is a good rebounder, put back guy who doesn't show up every game. Who knows about Suarez or the big kid from Australia. Anderson, good athleticism, not a great decision maker with the ball. The Canadian 2 guard can shoot, but is small and slow at the 2 in the A-10. If they get a very good coach they might get to .500 in the A-10 next year. Who do they have coming in? You think all the other A-10 teams are going to just stand pat while Fordham improves? What about GMU? They have some good players and will have a new coach also. That's like 3 of Fordham's wins this year alone.

Interesting article in the NY Post. Dead on target as to the foolishness of Fordham remaining in the A10. Though I disagree with the general assessment of Pecora's coaching abilities. I really believe that Pecora is a very good head recruiter but a crappy coach. He couldn't make the NCAA's at Hofstra even though he had 2 NBA guards. That says it all. nypost.com/2015/03/18/fordham-fools-fated-to-same-sabotage-with-pecoras-replacement/

Pecora is not the blame for Fordham's losing. Blame it on the Rose Hill Gym (among other things). In the 20 years since Fordham has joined the A10, they are a combined 178-398. That's an average of 9-20 for 20 years. I don't know what their overall A10 record is, but it's horrible and includes a 41-game conference losing streak. It's not because the coaches have stunk. It's because the job stinks.
For all its "charm," Rose Hill is unfit for a team that plays in a good conference like the A10. Either leave the league or get a new arena. In the meantime, the next Rams coach is guaranteed to lose big. Calipari couldn't turn that thing around. Why would anyone want the job?

Sengfelder is their best player. Paschall has the highest potential but needs real coaching, which was never going to happen if Pecora stayed. I wonder if either of the two players was planning on leaving if Pecora was retained. That might have forced Fordham's hand. I'd gladly take either one of them for Iona. Fordham can keep the rest of their roster. You're on the right path.

One of Tom Pecora's defenders, Michael Kay, said, yesterday, that he shouldn't have been fired. That the problem is their high academic standards (I've heard that song before) and the Rose Hill GYM. He said, if I heard him correctly (always a question), the RHG is the smallest and oldest in college BB. I know Hinkle Fieldhouse is about as old, and maybe older, and there are students at Rider who would think that RHG compares to Madison Square Garden.

That may largely be due to their football program but the numbers are not even close. It is not that they will not make the investment, its that they do not spend their money well.

59, last week he watched the a10 tourn during his show, i think it was the first time he had seen them play, he like dpEcora personally when he met him, he said that he had turned the program around, he was basing it on the close game vs vcu, he has no clue

Expecting that Fordham will not get their first choices for HC position as the program looks like a dead end until major changes occur like different conference affiliation or increased commitment to basketball with facilities upgrade. It will be interesting to watch what occurs and what players remain after the hire.

Not to sure you will see many, if any, Fordham players leave the program. being realistic after looking at their roster, the one player that interests me is Ryan Canty. If healthy I think he would be a good fit for Iona next season, and what the team needs. have seen him play and he plays really hard and with a lot of emotion. the last 2 years he played he averaged 6.5 rebounds a game in only about 17 minutes a game. pretty good numbers in the A-10. While he only averaged 4ppg, he did shoot 54%, and I would think he would score a few more points a game in TC'S system just because of more possessions and offensive rebounds. He would also be a 5th year SR., so eligible right away.

They have a kid coming in named Bunting who I think we offered. New England Prep kid - big and athletic I believe.

I'm going to hold everyone to their predictions for Fordham. ctbill, just having Canty back will be a big addition, he won't have to improve. All this team needs is a facilitator. A good coach will help with that. A good coach will help with everything. And .500 in the A-10 might just get you in the NIT, which means something since the vast majority of teams don't get in. Only 100 teams get in the NCAA or the NIT, so it is a real achievement and much better then what Fordham has seen recently.
