While I don't even know his name, I've heard that the coach at Kent State could be Fordham's choice. Anyone know anything about him, or at least his name?

According to John Beilein of Michigan, Neubauer is the best former assistant he's ever had. This guy can coach, according to JB, and it looks like Fordham finally has got it right, if JB is correct. And at Iona we know that JB is ALWAYS correct.

All of his coaching experience is in the south... he is going to need a recruiter with northeast connection.

I don't think Tom Izzo could do well at Fordham

Neubauer sounds like a solid guy who can coach. PL still in play for Fordham.

If FU was going PL, I don't see why the new coach would agree to be the coach.

If FU was going PL, I don't see why the new coach would agree to be the coach. With the facilities issue, its a better job in the PL than in the A-10. And its in NYC, probably a raise. They could dominate the PL and make the Tourney every couple of years.

If they leave A10 for Patriot League that makes the program more viable and coaching position doable. Staying in A10 would make coaching position a no win @ $500,000/year. Hopefully Fordham makes the league change and shows some sense.

I remember Neubauer as a reserve guard on the Lionel Simmons teams at LaSalle. A likeable player who just stepped into a career-killer of a coaching job.

ctbill, imo the RH gym is not an issue but rather an excuse. Their gym, while old, compares favorably to St. Joe's, LaSalle and Duquense. It's easy to say we can't compete because our gym is old and small. I'm old and small and I compete.

It's easy to say we can't compete because our gym is old and small. I'm old and small and I compete. Fordham has been terrible for 20 years (178-398). It's not just coaching. Rose Hill and the facilities in general are awful. To say that Rose Hill compares "favorably" to other gyms in the A10 is flat-out wrong. It needs to go. The A10 made a mistake by admitting Fordham without some assurance that RH would be replaced. Lack of foresight on the part of the conference. I guess they were desperate for someone to deliver the NYC market, something Fordham has never done. Fordham has instead been an albatross to the A10. The only people that care about Fordham basketball are a small contingent of the school's alumni.

Doug Gottlieb @gottliebshow 3h3 hours ago Jeff Neubauer is an excellent coach, fish out of water in NYC, but #Fordham wants to be a Patriot League team.

jimsouls, the gym argument reminds me of St. Bonnies fans who used to say that they couldn't win because they were located in the middle of nowhere, and recruits didn't want to go there. They then hired Jim Baron and things changed. And I have no idea about La Salle's gym and was basing my argument on where they played when they were in the MAAC. Do they have a new gym/arena?
