Just spoke to Eric Paschall’s father, Juan. He gave Fordham a list of 12-15 schools today, and Paschall has permission to contact them.

Cannot see Fordham granting a release so he could come here.

Cannot see Fordham granting a release so he could come here. Why do you think that? They don't play Us, Manhattan I can see

Cannot see Fordham granting a release so he could come here. Why do you think that? They don't play Us, Manhattan I can see There are alums on their board who would literally be on suicide watch. They don't play us because they're afraid we'll pummel them and that would prompt further ridicule from their alums that the basketball program stinks. No way to they want us to succeed, or Manhattan, or any other NYC area school. Terrified of the competition.

Do we really expect Paschall to move "down" in terms of conference? Is he trying to stay close to home and is open to metro area programs within the MAAC?

I didn't hear the Fordham AD Roach WFUV interview but one of their posters related that he said something to the effect that they want to play Iona as much as Iona wants to play them. That's a bit hard to swallow. I can't imagine that we are desperate to play them. They will start bashing Paschal soon on that board. Some real hate-filled morons on that board.

This is very interesting.
Oh, remember that Armand had committed to Fordham orginally, too.

He was Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year, which indicates he can play at a higher level than the MAAC. It would be a shocker if he chose Iona, especially with Huggins and Pitino apparently interested.

This kid has talent and he wants to play for a winner, somewhere he can improve his game. Fordham got rid of a weak coach, but the rest of the problems with their program are not going away. Fordham was a very poor fit for Paschall's game to begin with. Glad to see that he is coming to his senses, wherever he winds up transferring.

Wherever he goes he's going to have to sit a year, I believe the NCAA transfer waiver regarding eligibility expired last week!

Will be interesting to see where this kid goes. If he goes to another MAAC school it will really give us a reality check on where we stand within our own conference, and what the outside perception is among recruits. If he lands at Manhattan it shows us that winning conf tourneys is top priority, if he lands at Quinny it shows us that facilities trumps all. If we land him it shows us that our system continues to be attractive to top-notch recruits, as well as consistency and year-over-year relevance at the mid-major level.
