While I'm not sure of the exact date, I believe that the end of March is the final date to VOTE for Alumni Board members. There are a 'few" that have ties to this board, that I ask you to support and vote for:
1. Guy. 2. Heather Foldessy. 3. Matt Crisci. 4. Matt Rizzetta. 5, Kashif Hameed.
All of the above are talented alumns who are avid supporters of our athletic programs, and deserve your vote. And I apologize for not posting this sooner.

I've already whipped the unions and evangelicals in line.

qs, judging by Guy's tweets, I'd agree that whips are a big part of his 'game'.

I just received the results of the Alumni Board election, as a member of the Nominating Committee and I'm less than overjoyed. In fact VERY DISAPPOINTED describes my take on the results.

Where did you get the results?

Guy, I'm not at liberty to give out the results, but as a member of the Nominating Committee, I was sent them in order to contact the people who ran. I believe all will hear in the near future, either by mail, e-mail or phone. That's all I can say.

Super, this is my opinion, though it is shared by a friend who was also on the Nominating Committee. And that was the failure of the Association to elect (for the second time) Kashief Hameed. Kash is such a credit to Iona College, and there is no denying his creditendials. He is articulate, and successful in his job as a Principal in the NYC Public School System. As a former player he continues to follow the Gaels as I've run into him at many MAAC tournament games, over the years, as well as at home games. Down the road, I could envision him as the President of the Board. I just wish that more alumns got to know the man, as his loss was Iona's loss. But like I said this is just my opinion.

I thought that might be the case when I saw the results. I agree that his candidacy merited serious consideration based upon his commitment to Iona and his successful career.

I voted for Kashief not because I know him - I do not. I voted for him based upon the many positives I read on this Board about him, his background as a student athlete at Iona, his short bio on the ballot; and the fact that he is African American. We need all of our alums well represented on the Board. A similar analysis resulted in my vote for Guy.

Kashief is one of the finest youths I know...He gave the eulogy at my best friends funeral and Last Rites while we prayed at the bedside of a great Iona Fan (Nofi Vaccaro)...Their friendship between a elderly white man and a young black male was legendry...They both would vomit at your posting....... You were never one to think before posting.......
