Let's hope the shoplifting charge was an aberration. We don't have any Walmart's near the campus anyway.
Just how good is he and why didn't he follow through with ASU? An isolated theft charge wouldn't cause them to back off.

Jordan Washington - 6' 9" 260lb + PF - 3 star prospect. Built like a tank and is very agile, quick and tough. From Queens. Had offers from Cincinnati, Louisville, Oregon St., Pitt, SHU, Tennessee, St. John's, Villanova and Xavier. Looks from Arkansas, Fordham, Stanford, Miami,Virginia Tech and Notre Dame coming out of high school.
He had committed to Arizona State but the school cut ties with him after he got arrested for allegedly stealing two DVDs from a Wal-Mart. The movies of choice were ‘Curse of Chucky’ and ‘Taken.’ The total value of the items was $17.84.
This season he averaging 15.1 points and 7.4 boards and was named a JUCO All American. Extremely physical and knows how to use his body in the low post.... we all asked for an enforcer who could rebound and olay in the paint... the staff delivered. Kid has great hands. Was a Daily News High School Basketball All-Star and NY POST All City Honarable Mention. Before he committed to ASU he was being chased by Cincinnati, UNLV, Iowa State, Miami, Marquette, Oklahoma State, Houston and St. John’s.

I thought he was from Queens. If it's Jordan Washington from Pathways Prep in Queens, then WOW, kid got a lot of talent! But I don't think he ever played at NIA?

]Wow that's some heavy-duty competition. Hope it's accurate. [/quote] Briefly....He average about 8 PPG his 1st year...This past year he averaged over 15 PPG and made the National Juco All American team...Strong, improving rapidly...Aggressive rebounder...Arrested for alleged $20 property theft...shoplifting...Appears case as been adjudicated.... Quite a get, and a important piece of the need....

At the end of the day I trust Cluess' judgment as to the kid's character; Cluess has certainly done a good job with that so far.
Basketball wise Washington does seem to be exactly what we need. Paired with Bessick and IW, we may have vastly improved D and rebounding.

He sort of reminds me of a heavier David Laury.
