Does anyone know if Iona is even being considered? I don't know. But I doubt it because we weren't considered the first time.

Simplistic but we either have a great shot or absolutely no shot.

I may be rationalizing, but I think we MIGHT be in the picture, because Paschal's father has visited the board (though not posted) the last two days. Otherwise he would have put us out of our misery, when the news first broke. Even though we were not on PC's final list of schools, I remember his father saying that TC did a great job of recruiting him.

My assessment would be of a similar nature... Iona can offer things a high major can't and not offer things a high major can. After a year under his belt, what he's looking for now may be different than what he looked for originally. It all depends what he's looking for.

That is certainly some very stiff competition, and I'm sure that some other high majors are pursuing him. Let's hope that he is looking for a more intimate college experience. Iona does have a lot to offer him, starting with Tim Cluess and the chance to change his offensive game into more of a pro style. However, we'll never be able to compete with the Kansas's of the world if he is looking for facilities, big arena's etc.

Kansas Bigs for next year: Carlton Bragg - 6'9" is a top 25 recruit and a McDonalld's All American, incoming freshman. Cheick Diallo - 6'9" is a Top 10 player and is McDonald's All American and Jordan Brand Classic selection, incoming freshman. Cliff Alexander - 6'9" was a Top 5 player and is McDonald's All American and Jordan Brand Classic selection Will be a sophomore. Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk - 6'8" Ukranian. Would have been a Top 10 recruit out of high school in the States. Will be a sophomore. Landen Lucas - 6'10" four star recruit. Will be a junior and averaged about 16 minutes a game this past season. Hunter Mickelson and Perry Ellis will be gone by the time Pascal Chukwu would be eligible... but competition for minutes would be tough for any player. SJU would make more sense... he could bang against Obekpa in practice while sitting in residence for the year.

It all depends what he's looking for. Agree. Kid like this could put us completely over the top. It would be similar to the Jeff Ruland commit. If he wants the big time though that's a different animal, Kansas, UConn, etc. big arenas, lots of fans, get on TV more, etc. I believe Cluess et al would do a good job developing him. I have little doubt about that. He'd be a man among boys in the MAAC and maybe that is a concern for him. He might want to go up against better competition in conference.

The old Big East had the restriction... not sure if that still stands.
