Iona doesn't rate a mention in the article from the Mich. State fan site. Would love to see that blow up in their faces.

KU is out of the picture for Chukwu. He would have to pay KU for a year if he decided to commit. Vick reclassified for this upcoming year. www2.ljworld.com/news/2015/jun/03/vick-reclassifies-will-play-2015-16/The roster/visitor today: KU has filled its scholarship allotment of 13 for next season. The scholarship players are Vick, Bragg, Diallo and Coleby, plus returnees Perry Ellis, Devonté Graham, Brannen Greene, Landen Lucas, Frank Mason III, Hunter Mickelson, Svi Mykhailiuk, Wayne Selden, Jr., and Jamari Traylor. Paschal Chukwu, a 7-2 former Providence center, today will make a campus visit to KU after visiting Nebraska the past two days. Chukwu, who has three years of eligibility remaining, also has Virginia, Iona and Michigan State on his list. If he elected to come to KU, he’d either have to pay his own way a year or a returning player would have to leave the program.

So if Kansas is out where does that leave Iona? He is Unofficially visiting Iona later this week and I do believe having already visited Iona before committing to Providence does TC and staff have a better chance now with him?

He is Unofficially visiting Iona later this week and I do believe having already visited Iona before committing to Providence does TC and staff have a better chance now with him? It all depends on what he's looking for. Obviously, he wasn't comfortable finding that at PC. Grasso always talks about recruiting being about relationships. IMO, if Iona has any shot, it'll be because of what our coaching staff can offer that others can't.

Give us a 30% shot at landing him.

Give us a 30% shot at landing him. That would have been higher than I would have guessed. Depends on what he's looking for. Would be a radically different experience at Iona compared to the other schools. There are positives and negatives to each. Just hope he makes the right choice for himself. Seems like a good kid who would be an asset wherever he lands.

Time will tell. I feel his meeting current players will be more important in his decision making than the coaching staff as he will have heard the pitch. The current players will give the reality of the situation at Iona College from basketball to campus life. He will also get a sense of how he will fit in with potential teammates. That is my sense of the situation. Some athletes really want a positive experience all-around and not just what can the basketball program get me. To this point I feel past and current Iona players under Coach Cluess have bonded and honestly care for one another. To me this is extremely important as it leads to success on and off the court. Likely why Iona has been an attractive transfer spot.

Not probable that we land him, but wouldn't be surprised if we did. Kid has practically grown up with Iona. Has been on campus several times before, knows (and loves) the staff, understands the system, close to home. Would be a seamless transition for him. There would be no surprises, he knows exactly what he'd be coming into at Iona.
On the flip side you have BCS schools and all of the obvious benefits that lure talents of his calibur to those schools.
I think 30% is fair.

Iona05, if Kansas is REALLY out of it, does our 30% go up?

Odds are irrelevant. Just remember Momo Jones. What were those odds?
